43)Revolt in Hong Kong

The revolutionary movement is growing and spreading around the world. The latest uprising is happening in Hong Kong, and a great many people, or at least those who have recently become politically conscious, are wondering what is happening.

It may help to think of this revolutionary motion as a continuation of the class struggle that has happened around the world, and of course is still going on. It was Lenin and the Communist Party of Russia who led the Russian Revolution of November, 1917, to victory, against all the odds. But then Lenin and the Communists were following the theories of Marx, and that assured them victory.

Following the death of Lenin, it was Stalin who continued to build socialism and transformed the very backward, quite agrarian country of Russia into an industrial power house in a rather short time, in the form of the socialist Soviet Union. As a result of this, the Soviet Union was able to withstand the attack by the Nazis in 1941, and they won the Great Patriotic War. At that time, the Soviet Union was supremely well respected, with good reason.

After that war, the common people of China, the workers and peasants, were able to throw off the completely reactionary rule of the Kuomintang, and establish a socialist republic, under the leadership of Mao Tse Tung and the Chinese Communist Party, in 1948. The Chinese capitalists, the bourgeoisie, were then crushed under the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat and poor peasants, following the example of the Soviet Union.

The exception to this was the ”city-state” of Hong Kong, which at that time was under British rule. In fact it stayed under British rule until 1997, when it was officially returned to China. At that point, it became a ”Special Administrative Region” of China, or SAR,  and China promised a ”one country, two systems” status, which granted a certain measure of autonomy to Hong Kong, at least until 2047. So now the ”city-state” of Hong Kong is referred to as being separate from ”mainland China”.

To return to the time of the Chinese Revolution of 1948, the Soviet Union was held in very high regard. It came as a great shock to all Marxists, including the Chinese Communists, when Khruschev was able to restore capitalism in Russia, after the death of Stalin, in 1953. But then they faced the fact that as it happened in the Soviet Union, they knew it could happen in China. Their response to this was to launch the Great Chinese Cultural Revolution.

In 1960, the people of China were rising up, as they are now in Hong Kong. The response of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was shocking, at least to the capitalists, the bourgeoisie. They ruled that the police and army were not to interfere, except in cases of arson, rape or murder. It was up to the common people, the masses, as they refer to the workers and poor peasants, to determine their friends and their enemies. It was up to them to be educated in the class struggle. They were expected to root out the capitalists wherever they were hiding, and they were definitely hiding in the various fields of culture.

The capitalists were also hiding in the Communist Party, which came as a surprise to a great many people. But as various Marxists pointed out, there is a reason thieves rob banks: ”That is where the money is”. So of course after the revolution, the capitalists, the bourgeoisie, ”went to where the power is”, which is inside the Communist Party of China.

As an aside, we can say that after the American Revolution, we can expect the capitalists to weasel their way into the American Communist Party.

However, the Cultural Revolution lasted ten years, and the common people, the workers and poor peasants of China, were well schooled in the class struggle. It was a decade of pure terror for the capitalists, but even in China the capitalists were not crushed with sufficient enthusiasm.

Mao foresaw this possibility, and stated that such a restoration of power by the Chinese capitalists could not last long, ”at worst a few decades”, because the Chinese people had been schooled so well in the class struggle.

It has now been several decades since the capitalists were able to restore capitalism in China. The demonstrations in Hong Kong have been going on for several weeks now, and are growing stronger. They started as a protest against the policy of the government of Hong Kong, that of turning over people to mainland China, but has now transformed into demands that all prisoners who were arrested for protesting be released, charges dropped, and the police be investigated for use of excessive force. In short, they are demanding their democratic rights and an end to violent repression.

In a remarkable show of strength, they were able to shut down the airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, for two consecutive days. As I write this, they are regrouping, planning more action for the weekend.

Mainland China is keeping a close eye on events as they unfold. They have sent a great many troops and armoured vehicles to the border, and are preparing to invade Hong Kong and crush the rebellion. Of course their greatest fear is that this rebellion could spread to the mainland, and it very likely will do just that. We can expect the workers and poor peasants of Mainland China to rise up in support of their comrades in Hong Kong. It is entirely possible that this is going on now, and it is possible the authorities have managed to muzzle the press, at least for the moment. That remains to be seen.

The best the ruling class of capitalists in Mainland China can do is resort to mud slinging, referring to the protesters as ”terrorists”. The fact is that it is a very densely populated city of seven million, and possibly two million people have been involved in the protests. That number is growing. For the capitalists to accuse them of being terrorists is an indication of the level of fear and desperation the Chinese capitalists are feeling now.

By definition, a terrorist uses violence against civilians in an attempt to achieve political goals. These protesters are being attacked by riot police, so if anything it is the Hong Kong government that is using terror against their own civilians.

It is entirely possible that the protests in Hong Kong are the beginning of the next Chinese Revolution. Those protests are well organized and the leaders are careful to use different tactics. As yet, the movement is not revolutionary, or at least the posters which are being displayed on the walls are not calling for revolution. Then again, if they are revolutionary, the press is not reporting this. But then, during the Cultural Revolution, it was common place to display posters and banners on walls. This uprising may not be revolutionary as yet, but it is moving in that direction.

Now it is up to working people of the world to stand up in support of the people of Hong Kong. At the time American women marched on Washington, a great many people, mainly women, marched in support. In fact, they marched around the world. Now it is up to working people around the world to march in support of Hong Kong, and not just women. The men and women of Hong Kong are setting the example. It is up to workers of the world to do that which Marx advised:

Workers of the World, Unite!

Scientific Socialism!

Dictatorship Of the Proletariat!

1)Lenin and the Key Link

The current revolutionary situation in America may well have most people confused, and for good reason. It is confusing. With that in mind, may I suggest giving serious consideration to that which Lenin advised, when faced with a similar situation.

In various writings, Lenin consistently stressed the importance of the key link. In one of his most important writings, that of What Is To Be Done?, he said: ”Every question ‘runs in a vicious circle’ because political life as a whole is an endless chain consisting of an infinite number of links. The whole art of politics lies in finding and taking as firm a grip as we can of the link that is least likely to be struck from our hands, the one that is most important at the given moment, the one that most of all guarantees its possessor the possession of the whole chain.”

That was written at a time of revolutionary motion, similar to that which we are experiencing today. His advice is as valid today as when it was first written.

In my opinion, the key link in the chain today is preparations for the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat. It is the Proletariat which has to be trained to exercise Dictatorship over the bourgeoisie.

Preparations for that dictatorship involve raising the level of awareness of the working class, the proletariat. They have to be made aware of the existence of classes and the irreconcilability of the interests of those classes. They also have to be made aware of their duty to exercise dictatorship over that class of human parasites, the bourgeoisie. A little training in that respect should prove most valuable.

For the benefit of those who are just now becoming politically active -welcome, my brothers and sisters, my comrades- I will mention that the scientific name for the working class is the proletariat, and the scientific name for the monopoly capitalists is the bourgeoisie. They are also referred to as imperialists, as the age of monopoly capitalism is the age of imperialism.

I am sure all of you are aware of the scientific meaning of the word dictatorship, so I will not bore you with that which you already know. Suffice it to say that after the revolution, the capitalists will be separated from their wealth as well as their power. They will be held accountable for their crimes and not be allowed to hide behind an army of lawyers. They will be denied any and all democratic rights. The proletariat, the working class, will have the exclusive right to democracy. There is no other way to prevent the bourgeoisie from returning to power.

As an aside, I will mention that all workers must learn the correct scientific terms, as otherwise, the capitalists will use our ignorance against us.

The recent spate of shootings, mass murders in the country, are seen by the bourgeoisie as an opportunity. They do not see it as the tragedy that it is. In particular, they see it as an opportunity to divert the revolutionary movement. They are now blaming these acts of violence, this senseless slaughter of civilians, on video games. As if video games drive people to murder!

No, the problem is one of capitalism, and capitalism in its highest, most rotten form, monopoly capitalism, which is imperialism. The imperialists, the bourgeoisie, are completely reactionary, which is to say that there is nothing progressive about them. They can, and do, go to any lengths to preserve their wealth and power. As for those who are skeptical, consider the various wars in which the country is involved. The capitalists always have money for war, but they cannot afford to feed their own people.

The fact is that in the richest country of the world, people are going hungry. Seniors are suffering and dying because they cannot afford the medication they so desperately need. Children are neglected and abused because their parents are forced to work two and even three jobs, in an effort to make ends meet. People are forced to live on the street because they cannot afford to pay rent. There are various slums in the cities, filled with the homeless and unemployed.

It is also a fact that immigrants, people who are as desperate as they are poor, seeking a better way of life, are being arrested and thrown into prison. Children are being separated from their parents, and the children are being placed in prison. We are not allowed to see the suffering of these children, as cameras are not allowed inside those prisons. We are only allowed to hear those poor infants crying for their mothers.

These are the same people whom Trump has referred to as thieves, killers and rapists! As if infants are capable of rape and murder!

Then consider the fact that the president has referred to a major American city as a slum! As if it is the fault of the people who are forced to live in poverty!

Now consider the fact that the capitalists, the billionaires, the bourgeoisie, have more money than they can ever hope to spend, and it is not enough. They want more, and they are further determined to not pay any taxes. It is the bourgeoisie that is the problem.

It is to be stressed that the problem is not one of video games. Nor is the problem that of Trump. Impeaching him and removing Trump from office will not change the fact that the bourgeoisie are in charge. To replace him with one of the couple dozen Democratic candidates, the so called ”20-20 contenders”, those who are currently plugging up the airways with their drivel, will change nothing. The bourgeoisie will remain in charge. Such a change of face will merely replace Trump with another figurehead.

Now there are a great many young people -young from my rather ancient viewpoint- who are very fond of video games and object to the fact that the capitalists are blaming the video games on these senseless acts of mass murder. As they are rather worked up, I can only suggest that Leftist people suggest to these people, those who are fond of video games, that they take action. By that I mean that they should also join the two mainstream political parties, Democratic and Republican. That way, as party bosses, they will have a great deal to say about the candidates to run for any and all political offices, and that includes the presidency.

The point is that we should take advantage of all forms of discontent, and use this against the bourgeoisie. Those who join the two parties will gain valuable training and experience in the class struggle, in the sense that such training will be put to good use after the revolution, in exercising dictatorship over the bourgeoisie. The reason they have for joining the two parties is secondary. It is the raising of their level of awareness and the training they receive, in the class struggle, which is the main thing.

They can join such people as the students, who are mainly concerned with tuition. The seniors, who are very concerned with the cost of medication and their pensions. The workers, who are quite concerned with the minimum wage. Together, they can and will learn from each other. With some helpful input from Leftist people, they will soon learn that the problem is the bourgeoisie, and the solution lies in the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.

No doubt there are those who think I am expecting too much from working people. To such people I can only respond that the working class is not to be underestimated.

There are a great many talented people within the working class. Most of them may not be aware of this yet, as they have never had an opportunity to exercise those talents. But now that so many working people are ”waking up”, as they phrase it, those talents will no doubt be revealed.

As I have mentioned in previous articles, the approaching revolution can be successful only if it follows the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. That requires workers to be familiar with the fundamentals of Marxism, and I have covered that before, so there is no need to go into it again.

Now we want as many Americans to join the two mainstream political parties as possible, especially those who display discontent. If that discontent is based on video games, so be it. We also want those who are defending our democratic rights to join the two parties, including those who are defending our right to bear arms and our right to free speech. Any other differences we have with those people we can hash out later.

Also in the news, the revolutionary upheaval in Hong Kong is instructive. The people there are resorting to different tactics, referred to as ”hit and run”, which is an excellent idea. They have also closed down the major airport, which is quite an accomplishment. As yet they are not strong enough to challenge the police in open combat, so they are hitting in one place, running to another, and then another. Strangely, they have yet to start opening fire hydrants, which will reduce the water pressure, strictly limiting the use of water cannons. I am surprised they have yet to hit upon that tactic.

As such revolutionary motion tends to spread, it is entirely possible that similar revolts are taking place in other parts of China. The Chinese government may simply be keeping that well hidden.

Back on the home front, we can safely say that the only people who have proven themselves capable of organizing a nation wide march and protest, are the students and the women, and many of them are involved in various causes. The only way in which the capitalists, the bourgeoisie, can be overthrown, is by uniting in one common front, and not just by students and women. Men of the working class and the middle class, the petty bourgeois, will have to unite with those people, with the goal of overthrowing the bourgeoisie, and establishing the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.

No one wants a lengthy civil war, so the seizure of power is critical. Technically, this is referred to as an insurrection, and ideally, it should be quick and bloodless. Power should be seized within a day or two. The idea of keeping the plans for the insurrection a secret is not practical, as the bourgeoisie are masters of electronic eaves dropping. Of course, there is also no shortage of paid informers. They are a natural byproduct of capitalism.

With that in mind, upon the day which is appointed as the ”day of insurrection”, millions of working people should march, across the country, seizing key installations, including military bases, such as the Pentagon, government headquarters, such as the White House and Capitol Hill, communications centres and the stock exchange, such as are located in New York City, air ports, bridges, railroad stations and sea ports. Perhaps a ”dress rehearsal” should be carried out, just to make sure there are no glitches in the system.

Without doubt, the ruling class of capitalists in Hong Kong is also well informed, and yet the revolutionaries were able to shut down the major airport. We can learn from them.

Similar tactics in America should also prove to be most helpful. The politicians and members of the Trump administration should be harassed and humiliated, allowed no peace. Banners and posters should contain class content. Videos should be produced and placed on the internet, explaining the class struggle. The buildings which are the location for the 20-20 debates should be occupied, just as the main airport in Hong Kong was occupied. We should strive for as much mainstream press coverage as possible, as a means of carrying our message. We can and must raise the level of awareness of millions of people.

At the same time, there is an urgent need for a true American Communist Party, one which advocates for the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat. The membership in that Party must be rather few, limited to true Marxists. It is up to such people to provide the true leadership, as otherwise the revolution will only succeed in replacing one group of rulers with another.

As for those who are current or former members of the petty bourgeois, aware of the class struggle, serious students of Marxism, may I suggest that along with knowledge and education comes responsibility, if only on a moral level. The proletariat is counting on you, true Marxist intellectuals, to take the bull by the horns. Form an American Communist Party, Dictatorship Of Proletariat.

As ever more Americans become card carrying members of the two mainstream political parties, they will become more politically active and their level of awareness will rise. These advanced workers will also receive valuable training, which well serve them well after the revolution.

24)Destroy the Old, Embrace the New

Socialism is on the horizon. Countless working people are speaking of this, without quite knowing the meaning of the word. As well, a great many capitalists and their supporters are referring to socialism, the difference being that the capitalists are well aware of the meaning of the word. It means the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat, and it is their greatest nightmare. It terrifies them, with good reason.

Yet there are a great many people, middle class as well as working class, who are afraid to face socialism, for no good reason. Perhaps because it is different, and for some reason, there are people who become accustomed to the old, the familiar, and appear to be scared of the new. To such people, most of whom are probably in their declining years, I can only suggest that you embrace socialism, as it is far more comfortable, at least for the working class. Capitalism is old, it is dying, it is rotten to the core. Socialism is new, different, fresh, growing and gaining strength. Feel free to embrace the new and different. Socialism is the future, it is almost here, and it is here to stay.

It may help to think of capitalism as an old, broken down, rusty vehicle, a rattle trap. To throw a coat of paint on such a vehicle does not change the fact that it is worn out, ready for the scrap yard. In much the same way, to send new faces to Washington does not change the fact that capitalism is worn out, about to be scrapped, and no change of face, regardless of how pretty the face, will change that.

The fact is that the only way to socialism is through destruction. Revolution could break out any day, which is civil war, the class struggle at its highest pitch, a legitimate war to overthrow the bourgeoisie. There is no other way to liberate the working class, to end their oppression and exploitation, except through revolution and the subsequent Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.

Without doubt there are a great many starry eyed optimists who dispute that statement. To those honest, misguided souls I can only suggest that you take a moment, give it some serious thought and face the fact that destruction, in this case in the form of revolution, is about to happen. There is no other way. It is absolutely necessary, and it is a wonderful thing.

All Marxists are well aware that it is not possible to ”introduce” socialism. It takes shape in the course of the most intense, acute class struggle and civil war. As Lenin put it, ”violence is always the midwife of the old society”. He went on to say that ”a special system of organized coercion of a definite class corresponds to the transitional period between the bourgeois and the socialist society, namely the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.” The implication is that even after the conquest of power by the proletariat, after the bourgeoisie is overthrown, a state of simmering war will continue. The bourgeoisie will not resign themselves to their fate. They are not about to bow down to their conquerers and pledge allegiance to the new social order. On the contrary, they will resort to every subterfuge, probe for any weakness, and at best bide their time until they think the time is ripe, and then they will strike. That is precisely the reason the proletariat must be ever vigilant, constantly using armed force against the bourgeoisie.

The proletariat must be educated in the class struggle. They have to learn the skills required to become the ruling class and crush the bourgeoisie. These skills are not dropped from the sky as mannah from heaven. Even before the revolution, the working class must wage a stubborn, desperate struggle against the bourgeoisie, as experience is a fine teacher. The skills the workers learn now will serve them well after the revolution, as the resistance of the bourgeoisie will not fade away, but on the contrary, increase ten fold, as they make every effort to restore their ”paradise lost”. As for those who doubt this, bear in mind the fact that no one wants to lower their standard of living. The billionaires, those who are accustomed to spending millions of dollars on themselves every month, if not every day, are no exception.

In the spirit of educating the working class and at the same time destroying the bourgeois state apparatus which has been set up to ”govern” the country, I can suggest that Americans join the two parties, Democratic and Republican, and encourage their family and friends to do the same. It may help to think of this as killing two birds with one stone. As countless Americans join the two parties, they will accomplish that which a great many Leftist people have tried to do over the years, but failed. They will succeed in destroying the two party system which has served the capitalists since the days of the Civil War. In the process, they will receive a valuable education in the existence of classes and the struggle between the classes. The education they receive now will serve them well after the revolution, when they will take an active role in exercising dictatorship over the bourgeoisie.

At the moment, the press is focused on Trump and the presidential debates. This is orchestrated by the bourgeoisie as a means of diverting the revolutionary working class movement onto some harmless sideline, such as impeaching Trump and focusing on a possible candidate to replace him. They want the working class to focus on anything but  the fact that the bourgeoisie is the problem and no change of face in Washington will change that. The working class has to learn that Trump is not the problem. The bourgeoisie is the problem, and that whole class has to be overthrown and crushed.

For that reason, I am suggesting that if there are enough working class people who join the parties as card carrying members, then the presidential debates will be meaningless, as those same card carrying members will decide the candidate to run for all offices, and that includes the presidency. Not only the presidential debates but also the impeachment and removal of Trump from office will then be meaningless.

Assuming that millions of Americans join the two parties, then the bourgeoisie will no doubt change their method of rule, and the workers will receive a further education. That response could well trigger an insurrection, resulting in the overthrow of the bourgeoisie. That will in turn result in an entirely new historical period, one which is required for the suppression of the capitalists, the bourgeoisie. That historical period is referred to as the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat. I suspect that day is closer than most people suspect. With that in mind, I can only suggest that the posters and banners proclaim:

Dictatorship Of the Proletariat!

Workers of the World, Unite!

Scientific Socialism!

Marx and Lenin Forever!

39)Need For American Communist Party

The revolutionary motion in America is gaining strength. Ever more working class people are becoming politically active, dissatisfied with life under capitalism. For the most part, this is rather instinctive, as they are not aware of the existence of classes. The life as a proletarian does not lead to the awareness of classes. The members of all other classes are aware of that existence and aware that each class has its own class interests. Those classes include the nobility, the peasants, the middle class or petty bourgeois, and of course the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie.

I am sure that a great many working class people, those who have recently become politically active, are reading this, so I must stress that all learn the correct scientific terms for each class. The capitalists take great delight in using our ignorance of these terms against us.

The capitalists are also well aware of the revolutionary motion and are determined to divert this motion. They of course own the press and have ordered the journalists to focus on the 20-20 presidential debates and also attack Trump. Even though Trump is one of their own, they have no loyalty towards each other. There is no honour among thieves.

This tactic appears to be somewhat effective, as the people on the Left, those who refer to themselves as Socialists, Independent Socialists, Anarchists, Social Democrats, Marxists, Communists, Bolsheviks or various other names, are now rather silent. By this I mean that recently, there have been no marches or demonstrations. The politicians and members of the Trump administration are not being exposed and publicly humiliated. The same is true of the various presidential candidates, all of whom are in the service of the same class, the bourgeoisie.

This is class war, the capitalists against the workers, the bourgeoisie against the proletariat. It has been going on since the industrial revolution, which gave rise to the creation of new classes, the capitalists and the workers, the bourgeois and the proletarians. It will soon break out into open warfare, as the working class challenges the capitalists for political power. We had best be prepared.

With that in mind, we want to attack the enemy from all sides. I am calling upon all Americans to join the two mainstream political parties, Democratic and Republican. As card carrying members of the parties, you determine the candidate for any and all political office, and that includes the presidency. Assuming a few million Americans join the two parties, and those card carrying members of both parties decides that each party will endorse Sanders for president, then there will be no need for any and all presidential debates. Nor will there be any need to decide the proper candidate to challenge Trump, as the Republican Party will not be endorsing him to run for a second term. Problem solved.

I am also suggesting a careful reading of key works of Lenin, especially State and Revolution and Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism. This will help to educate the members of the working class.

Not only that, but I am also calling upon the various womens’ groups to once again come together, be active, as you were when you marched upon Washington. With that march, you proved, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that you are capable of organizing a proper insurrection. In fact, you are the only Americans who are capable of such organizing abilities. Your skills are desperately needed.

This is not to say that you should put aside your considerable differences, as that is not reasonable. It is to say that all have a common enemy, and that enemy is not Trump. It is the class he represents, and that class is the bourgeoisie. Until that class is overthrown and crushed under the iron boot of the proletariat, the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat, then nothing of substance will change.

With that in mind, I can suggest more marches and demonstrations, embarrassing and humiliating various servants of the bourgeoisie, including politicians and members of the Trump administration. The farce of the presidential debates should be disrupted, especially as that should give rise to some fine press coverage.

I can also suggest raising this to a new level, carrying posters and signs which contain class content. As well, perhaps a speech by the leader of the demonstration, to be posted on one of the social media outlets of the internet, drawing attention to the class conflict. With any luck, such a speech will go viral, assuming that is the correct expression. The internet has provided us with tools to use against the bourgeoisie, so feel free to use them.

Then there are the members of the working class who are men, very likely fellow sinners, male chaunanists one and all. You are conspicuous by your absence. It is your women who are leading the revolutionary motion, and they need your help. As you are well aware, it is the job of a man to protect the women. Very soon, those women are going to need all the protection they can get. Of course, I am referring to the time, in the not too distant future, when the class war becomes violent. That is referred to as the day of insurrection. On that day, we can expect the capitalists, or at least the officers within the military, to order their troops to open fire on the revolutionaries. The troops may or may not obey that order. A great deal depends upon the strength of the revolutionary motion, and upon the preparation of the people taking part in that insurrection. This is to say that if the insurgents are armed and prepared to return fire, then that can dampen the enthusiasm of the troops.

It is also true that the troops now have computers and other digital devices, so that they can be sent the message beforehand that we do not see them as the enemy. They are free to join us and be treated as an equal. Their past conduct will not be held against them.

As for those who are skeptical, feel free to point out the experience of the Russian Revolution of November 7, 1917. The Karensky government was forewarned of the insurrection and took refuge in the Winter Palace of the Czar. They were guarded by shock troops, the Savage Division. For the most part, those troops refused to open fire on the revolutionaries. Immediately after the success of the revolution, those men were allowed to sign a paper, swearing not to challenge the revolution, and then released. They were even allowed to keep their weapons.

In much the same way, after the success of the American insurrection, after the capitalists are overthrown, the troops guarding the capitalists and their henchmen, such as the Secret Service, will be required to sign a paper, agreeing not to fight the revolutionaries, and then released.

As well, the working class will be faced with another problem. That problem is one of replacing the government of the capitalists with a government of the workers. That is where State and Revolution comes in so handy. The state apparatus must be smashed and replaced with a proletarian apparatus, one which will be used to crush the desperate and determined resistance of the capitalists, the bourgeoisie.

The current state apparatus has been set up by the capitalists, the bourgeoisie, to crush the working class. A tiny minority has found a way to subjugate the vast majority. That state apparatus must be destroyed and replaced by a proletarian state apparatus, the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.

No doubt there will be a great many people on the Left who will dispute this. They will be anxious to maintain the existing state apparatus and use it for their own purposes. This is to say, they will try to set themselves up as the new rulers!

That is where a proper Communist Party, Dictatorship Of the Proletariat, comes into play. Only such a party, a true leader of the working class, can explain to working people the absolute necessity of such a dictatorship, and make sure this happens. The one and only way in which this can happen is by smashing the state apparatus which has been set up by the bourgeoisie, for purposes of subjugating and exploiting the working class. Otherwise, the revolution will succeed in merely replacing one set of leaders of the capitalists with another.

I can only stress that there is a desperate need for a Communist Party in America. The fact is that people need leaders, just as every ship needs a captain, and those who say otherwise are simply demagogues. It is only those who follow the theories of Marx and Lenin, which is to say Communists, who are the true leaders of the working class. Without such leaders, the working class can be compared to a ship without a captain, at the mercy of the wind and waves, drifting aimlessly around the sea. But a ship with a captain is able to chart a course and head straight for port.

In the case of the working class, that port is the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat, or DOP. I use capital letters in order to stress the importance. It is not enough to overthrow the capitalists, the bourgeoisie. After the revolution, they must be crushed, ground into the dust, absolutely precluded from once again weaselling their way into power.

As for those who think that is rather harsh, bear in mind the fact that the capitalists were able to return to power in Russian and China, precisely because they were not crushed, or at least not with sufficient enthusiasm. The working class of those countries did not exercise sufficient dictatorship over that class of parasites.

A true Communist Party advocates the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat. Those who deny the necessity for that dictatorship or gloss over it, neglecting to mention this, are not Marxists but revisionists. Some of these parties openly claim that it is necessary to revise the theories of Marx and Lenin, while others are more shy about this. They do their best to avoid the subject, and hide behind the fact that workers are not discussing this. Of course that is true, as most workers are not aware of the necessity of first overthrowing the bourgeoisie and then crushing them under the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat. This awareness has to come to the working class from an outside source, the petty bourgeois intellectuals.

No doubt there are those who are of the opinion that differences in such matters are about as exciting as arguing over the colours of a rainbow. At what point does yellow become orange? At what point does blue become violet? Who really cares?

To such people I can only respond that such is not the case, as a difference of opinion concerning a matter of revolutionary theory may appear unimportant today, but may be of critical importance tomorrow. The stakes are nothing less than political power. Either the capitalists are in charge, crushing and exploiting the working class, or the working class is in charge, exercising dictatorship over the bourgeoisie. There is no middle ground.

Without doubt, a true American Communist Party, Dictatorship Of the Proletariat, or ACP, DOP for short, will win the support of the vast majority of working people. Equally without doubt, there will be a sizeable minority who will support other parties and groups. The Democratic Socialists of America comes to mind. As they have done some fine revolutionary work in the past, and have an impressive membership of possibly fifty thousand people, they are well respected. It is entirely possible that they may form a coalition government with the ACP,DOP.

A similar situation took place in Russia in November of 1917, after the reactionary regime of Karensky was overthrown. At that time, a great many peasants were supporting the Socialist Revolutionaries. That being the case, the Communists, led by Lenin, adopted the agrarian program of the Socialist Revolutionaries. They in turn were furious. Sore winners! They got exactly what they wanted and complained bitterly.

After they calmed down, those same Socialist Revolutionaries, or at least one of their factions, joined the Communists in forming a coalition government, in honour of the newly created Soviet Union.

That is the reason I am calling upon class conscious people, by whom I mean people who are aware of the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. to come together and form an American Communist Party, Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.

It is very likely that most of the people who respond to that call and form the ACP,DOP will be current or former members of the middle class. Just bear in mind that Marx, Engels and Lenin were also members of the middle class, so that places you in good company. The class background is not important. The message that is being carried, that of Marx and Lenin, is all important.

It is perhaps not an exaggeration to say that the success of the socialist American revolution depends upon you. So feel free to take action, in the interests of raising the level of awareness of the working class to that of Marxists, starting with various slogans:

Workers of the World, Unite!

Scientific Socialism!

Dictatorship Of the Proletariat!

12)Women With Power

The recent Womens’ March on Washington has proven one thing beyond any shadow of a doubt. Women have power. In fact, they very likely have far more power than they can imagine. It is also very likely that they have no idea of just how much power they really have. Otherwise, they would be exercising that power.

So I say to those women who took part in the Womens’ March: WAKE UP!

As I mentioned in a previous article, the upper stratum of the proletariat in America, as well as other industrialized countries of the world, have been bribed by the capitalists, the bourgeoisie. They are now receiving a rather handsome paycheque, at least compared to the vast majority of working people, and in turn are careful not to ”rock the boat”. In short, these highly skilled, well paid workers, the majority of whom are men, are no longer revolutionary. They are quite happy to not challenge the capitalists.

If the vast majority of working people, especially the women, feel betrayed, there is a reason for this. It is because they have been betrayed.

As a result of this betrayal, countless women, middle class as well as working class, have risen to the occasion. They have formed various womens’ groups, each of which has a particular set of demands. That is a big step in the right direction, but only a step. An even bigger step was the coalition of womens’ groups which marched on Washington, and across the country. At the same time, women marched in numerous countries around the world, all in support of American women.

The final, major step has yet to be taken. Women have got to face the fact that the problem is one of class, and that class is the bourgeoisie. I can only stress that it is a class struggle, the capitalists against the workers, the bourgeoisie against the proletariat. That is also the way in which it has to be presented to the members of the working class, as so many people are not aware of the technical terms.

True, this womens’ movement is very likely being led by middle class women, members of the petty bourgeois. No doubt those people are feeling slightly desperate, as they are being squeezed ever tighter by the bourgeoisie. For years, these women had visions of becoming ever more rich and successful, and even joining the ranks of the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie. Who can blame them?

But now reality has set in. The ranks of the bourgeoisie are not growing, but shrinking, as they impoverish not only the proletariat and the middle class, but also each other. They do not hesitate to ”cut the throats” of each other, as they phrase it. In fact, they attack each other with a certain enthusiasm, as the profits that result from separating other billionaires from their wealth are enormous. The starry eyed optimists of the middle class, those who dream of joining the bourgeoisie, are easy money. The bourgeoisie prey upon them as wolves prey upon sick moose.

As a result of the increasing impoverishment of the petty bourgeois, many of them have been forced to join the ranks of the proletariat. Others are desperately hanging on, trying to maintain the life style to which they have become accustomed. At the same time they are sliding ever more deeply into debt. These frantic souls are very likely enthusiastic members of the womens’ movement.

Then there are the working class women. They are not starry eyed optimists, as they never had any illusions of joining the ranks of the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie. That door has been closed to them from birth, and they know this. As a result of this, they are the bedrock of the womens’ movement.

Now it is time for the two classes to come together, to combine the skills and training of the middle class, or former members of the middle class, with the determination and dedication of the working class. They can learn from each other. Both classes must focus on the enemy, which is the bourgeoisie. It is not Trump, although he has been put forward as the decoy, the red herring, the lightning rod for the revolutionary movement. Anything to draw attention from the real enemy, the bourgeoisie.

Now optimistic souls are pushing forward the former first lady as the person to defeat Trump in the 20-20 election. As if that would solve the problem! Even if she is elected as president, the bourgeoisie will remain in charge, the working class will continue to be exploited, the middle class will continue to be decimated, and the profits of the capitalists will continue to soar. Nothing of substance will change.

Now it is time for millions of Americans, including those who took part in the Womens’ March, to take action. The bourgeoisie must be challenged on various fronts. They must be allowed no peace. It is necessary to join both mainstream political parties, as card carrying member.  As party bosses, you can decide the person to run for office. As well, more marches and demonstrations are required. Feel free to flex your muscles. Call attention to the existence of classes and the necessity of a revolution. You have done it before and you can do it again. Attack the bourgeoisie from all sides. Let them know that it is just a matter of time before you mount an insurrection and overthrow the capitalists. You are also going to flood Washington with socialists, and there is nothing they can do to stop this. Pay no attention to the talk of impeaching Trump and the presidential debates. Draw the attention of the press to the class struggle and the revolution. Embarrass and humiliate Trump and the members of his administration, as well as politicians of both parties. Support the Squad. Invite men, including fellow male chauvinists, to join the uprising. Use the internet, also referred to as social media, if I am not mistaken, to carry the message. Plant the seeds of revolution anywhere and everywhere.

It may help to think of further marches and demonstrations as preparation for the Big One, by which I mean the insurrection, the day working people overthrow the capitalist American government and replace it with a truly socialist society, the Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.

Do not be surprised if working people in other countries follow suit. At the same time that the American capitalists meet their Waterloo, the capitalists of other countries may also be overthrown. Just as the Womens’ March on Washington triggered similar marches around the world, so too the insurrection in America may inspire people in other countries to also overthrow their capitalist governments. If anyone can do this, it is American women. You have done it before, and you can do it again. Do not place any restrictions on yourself.

You are in the vanguard of the revolutionary working class movement of the world. The hopes and dreams of countless people are in your hands. God Bless You, One and All.
