The international movement of the working class, towards a state of Scientific Socialism, has now spread to various countries of the world, and not just those which are highly industrialized. A considerable number of countries that are largely agrarian are also experiencing revolutionary motion. This is excellent news, as previous experience has revealed that such revolutions tend to spread to other countries. For that reason, it is reasonable to expect that the next revolution will spread to numerous countries, possibly a great many countries, around the world.

Yet it is one thing to have a revolution, to have the working class rise up in open revolt, against the ruling class of monopoly capitalists, and something else entirely to succeed, to give rise to a state of Scientific Socialism. Of necessity, that requires a certain ‘’level of awareness’’ of the working class, a ‘’class consciousness’’. At the very least, the most advanced workers must be made aware of the fact that the goal is one of Scientific Socialism. That is the purpose of this article.

It is safe to say that the vast majority of common people, by whom I mean workers and family farmers, are of the opinion that socialism is a good idea. After all, it makes ever so much more sense to provide for the ‘’common good’’, rather than for the benefit of the ‘’chosen few’’, those who are commonly referred to as the ‘’super rich’’, or the ‘’Class of Oligarchy Billionaires’’. So it is only natural that such people spontaneously gravitate towards socialism.

The key word here is ‘’spontaneous’’. Even though it is certainly ‘’natural’’, that is not enough. It is equally ‘’natural’’ that the ruling class of ‘’super rich’’, the multi billionaires, take a ‘’dim view’’ of socialism, with good reason. They see it as a threat to their wealth and power, as indeed it is. No one ever accused those people of being entirely stupid!

For that reason, they ‘’badmouth’’ socialism, at every opportunity, to phrase it in popular terms. Possibly their two favourite ‘’whipping boys’’, are the formerly socialist republics of the Soviet Union and China. The fact of the matter is that the capitalists were able to return to power in both the Soviet Union, and in China, after the deaths of Stalin and Mao. And that calls for a little explanation. 

The reason I say this, is because of that which Lenin wrote, in Left Wing Communism, An Infantile Disorder: ‘’Symptomatic of any genuine revolution is a rapid, tenfold and even hundredfold increase in the size of the working and oppressed masses- hitherto apathetic- who are capable of waging the political struggle.’’

It stands to reason that these ‘’hitherto apathetic’’ workers, those who are ‘’capable of waging the political struggle’’, are completely unaware of the Scientific Socialist Revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin, and have to be ‘’brought up to speed’’. It is for the benefit of those workers- Welcome, My Brothers and Sisters, My Comrades!- that this article is being written. Having said that, let us now proceed to the gist of the matter.

Karl Marx lived and worked during the mid to late nineteenth century, at a time of early, competitive, ‘’pre monopoly’’ capitalism. He conducted a thorough, detailed, systematic examination of capitalism, and proved, that it would, of necessity, give rise to a state of Scientific Socialism. Here is the manner in which Marx phrased it, in a letter to Weydemeyer, in 1852. As Marx stated:

‘’And now as to myself, no credit is due to me for discovering the existence of classes in modern society, nor yet the struggle between them. Long before me, bourgeois historians had described the historical development of this class struggle, and bourgeois economists the economic anatomy of the classes. What I did that was new was to prove: 1) that the existence of classes is only bound up with particular historical phases in the development of production; 2) that the class struggle necessarily leads to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat; 3) that this Dictatorship itself only constitutes the transition to the abolition of all classes and to a classless society.’’ (my italics)

Now that is a paragraph that I would love to see in poster form! I would be the first to buy a copy! 

Bear in mind that it was Friedrich Engels who worked closely with Marx. The two of them wrote the Communist Manifesto, the CM, in 1848. Perhaps it is best to quote that which they stated, at the beginning of the CM:

‘’A spectre is haunting Europe – the spectre of Communism. All the powers of old Europe have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise this spectre…. Communism is already acknowledged by all European powers to be itself a power. It is high time that Communists should openly, in the face of the whole world, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the Spectre of Communism with a manifesto of the party itself.’’

The work of Marx and Engels remained strictly theoretical, until 1871. That was the year in which the workers of Paris, France, rose up, threw out their capitalist rulers, and established the first workers state, which they referred to as the ‘’Paris Commune’’. They referred to themselves as ‘’Communards’’. The Commune was brief, as the workers controlled Paris from March 18 to May 28, 1871, just over two months, before being crushed, with the utmost brutality.

It is significant that Marx was, at that time, living in Britain, and closely following the events in France. He kept in close contact with the leaders of the Commune, offering them advice, which, for the most part, they did not follow. To their everlasting regret, I might add.

Yet that brief experience, meagre that it was, provided Marx with very valuable information. He summarized the lessons learned in his landmark work, The Civil War In France. He documented the fact that the workers attempted to seize control of the existing state apparatus, that which had been set up by the capitalists, in order to crush the working class, and use that same apparatus, for their own purposes. That was a huge mistake. Marx concluded that the existing state apparatus has to be smashed, at the time of the revolution, and replaced with a new state apparatus, in the form of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. 

The necessity of smashing the existing state apparatus, must be stressed. We will return to this subject, later on in this article. For the moment, our focus is on the term Scientific Socialism, which is to say the state of socialism which was first forecast by Marx, as a result of his scientific analysis of capitalism. 

It was Lenin, a student of Marx and Engels, a fellow Scientific Socialist, who conducted a further scientific examination of capitalism, in its highest stage, that of monopoly, otherwise known as imperialism. He published his conclusions in his fine work, Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism. 

This scientific examination of capitalism, by both Marx and Lenin, stands in stark contrast to the beliefs of those who are of the opinion that socialism is merely a ‘’good idea’’, as indeed it is. These people are referred to as ‘’utopian socialists’’. The vast majority of such people are honest, hard working, law abiding people, and deserve our utmost respect, as they have merely been misled. 

By way of contrast, there are utopian socialists who scoff at Scientific Socialists, and in fact, have no use for ‘’theory’’. They tend to have a very high opinion of themselves, and consider any ‘’stray thought’’ that crosses their mind, to be a ‘’stroke of genius’’. 

Such people  refuse to face the fact that the correct theory is nothing other than the proper evaluation of previous experience. Scientific Socialism is an expression of the correct revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. We can learn from the experience of previous revolutions, their successes as well as their failures- especially their failures!- or we can repeat their mistakes!

It is of the utmost importance to distinguish between the utopian socialists who are honest, merely misinformed, as opposed to those who are devoid of principle, technically referred to as ‘’opportunists’’. The honest utopian socialists are the natural and desirable allies of the Scientific Socialists, while those who are devoid of principle are our bitter enemies. Such people, also known as ‘’social chauvinists’’, those who are ‘’socialists in words, chauvinists in deeds’’, are determined to go to great lengths to distort the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin, in an attempt to divert the revolutionary movement of the working class. These distortions are referred to as ‘’revisions’’, and the people who propagate these distortions are referred to as ‘’revisionists’’. 

Although it may sound ‘’paradoxical’’, there are two diametrically opposed ‘’types’’ of people who closely study the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. These include those of us who are true Scientific Scientists, and the revisionists. 

The Scientific Socialists, otherwise known as Marxist-Leninists or Communists, study those theories with a view to applying them to our current situation, to determine the correct course of action, in our war with the monopoly capitalists. By contrast, the revisionists study those same theories, with a view to distorting, to revising, those same theories.

Lenin covers this in his excellent work, What Is To Be Done? As it is so important, I have decided to quote it, at some considerable length. Bear in mind that, at the time this article was written, Marxists referred to themselves as ‘’Social Democrats’’, as we fight for socialism as well as democracy. But then, as the Social Democratic Party split, the majority, led by Lenin, became known as the Bolsheviks, and still later, the name was changed to Communists. Different names for Scientific Socialism. 

As well, I should also add that the term ‘’bourgeois’’ is a reference to the capitalists. The ‘’monopoly capitalists’’, our current crop of multi billionaires, are technically referred to as the ‘’bourgeoisie’’, while the ‘’small time’’ capitalists, or ‘’middle class’’, is referred to as the ‘’petty bourgeois’’. 

Now to the heart of the dispute. Lenin laid out the substance of the dispute, among the members of the Social-Democratic Party:

‘’Social-Democracy must change from a party of the social revolution into a democratic party of social reform….The possibility of putting socialism on a scientific basis and of proving that it is necessary and inevitable from the point of view of the materialist conception of history was denied, as also were the facts of growing impoverishment and proletarianization and the intensification of capitalist contradictions. The very conception, ‘ultimate aim’, was declared to be unsound, and the idea of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat was absolutely rejected. It was denied that there is any difference in principle between liberalism and socialism. The theory of the class struggle was rejected, on the grounds that it could not be applied to a strictly democratic society, governed according to the will of the majority, etc.

‘’Thus, the demand for a definite change from revolutionary Social-Democracy to bourgeois social-reformism, was accompanied by a no less definite turn towards bourgeois criticism of all the fundamental ideas of Marxism. As this criticism of Marxism has been going on for a long time now, from the political platform, from university chairs, in numerous pamphlets and a number of scientific works, as the younger generation of the educated classes has been systematically trained for decades on this criticism, it is not surprising that the ‘new, critical’ tendency in Social-Democracy should spring up, all complete, like Minerva from the head of Jupiter. The content of this new tendency did not have to grow and develop, it was transferred bodily from bourgeois literature to socialist literature.’’ (italics by Lenin)

To think that this article, which described the situation in Russia, 1905, is also an accurate description of our current situation! To this day, the ‘’younger generation of the educated classes’’, is being ‘’systematically trained’’ in the criticism of all of the fundamental tenets of Scientific Socialism, especially the revolutionary theories. They, in turn, carry this revisionist belief to various ‘’Leftist’’ organizations.

At first glance, this seems to make no sense, or is ‘’counter intuitive’’, to state it in scientific terms. Yet there is a ‘’method to their madness’’, to phrase it in popular terms. These people, the ‘’younger generation of the educated classes’’, dedicated capitalists, one and all, have learned the distortion of the Scientific Socialist Revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. Which in no way changes the fact that they are well aware of the correctness of those same theories! They know that both Marx and Lenin were correct! The working class, the proletariat, is destined to rise up in open revolution! So their ‘’solution’’ to this little problem, is to set themselves up, as leaders of the working class, and to seize control of the existing state apparatus, at the time of the revolution, and set themselves up, as the new rulers!

This is to stress the importance of raising the level of awareness of the working class, or at least the most advanced workers. Bear in mind that the less advanced pay strict attention to the opinion of the most advanced. For that reason, the necessity of smashing the existing state apparatus, at the time of the revolution, must be stressed.

Now that we have covered the importance of Scientific Socialism, as opposed to utopian socialism, it is necessary to examine the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. But first, it is necessary to give a brief history of the working class movement, towards Scientific Socialism. 

It was Lenin who led the Great October Soviet Socialist Russian Revolution to victory, in 1917, but only because he followed the revolutionary theories of Marx and Engels. After the death of Lenin, it was Stalin who carried on his work, that of building a state of Scientific Socialism. This enabled the Soviet Union to withstand the Nazi juggernaut. Yet after the death of Stalin, in 1953, the capitalists were able to return to power, as Stalin made a few rather serious mistakes.

As well, it was Mao Tse Tung who led the Chinese Revolution to success, in 1949. Yet he too made a number of mistakes, which enabled the Chinese capitalists to return to power, after the death of Mao, in 1976. As I have documented this in previous articles, there is no need to repeat it here.

It is the goal- or more accurately, the duty!- of Scientific Socialists, to learn from previous revolutionary experience, in order to build upon their successes, while avoiding their mistakes. After all, we are all human, so that we all make mistakes.

Perhaps it is best to view the success of the capitalists, in their return to power, in the Soviet Union and in China, as ‘’temporary’’, as ‘’reversals’’, as ‘’part of the learning curve’’, which the international working class has to surmount, in order to secure a true, international Scientific Socialist Republic. After all, this is a world war, proletarians versus capitalists, and in such a war, it is reasonable to expect the occasional defeat. Yet there can be no doubt of ultimate victory. 

This brings us to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. Yet what is the Proletariat? It is the working class, the members of whom work for wages, hourly employees, proletarians. And once again, this calls for a little explanation.

It may come as something of a surprise to learn that classes did not always exist. There was a time, commonly referred to as the ‘’Stone Age’’, or a time of ‘’primitive society’’, in which there were no classes. People lived as nomads, moving from place to place, taking advantage of the crops as they became ripe, as well as following the herds. Everyone lived ‘’hand to mouth’’, constantly on the verge of starvation, as there was never a surplus. For that reason, everyone had to ‘’pull his own weight’’. Those who chose to ‘’dog it’’, to expect others to do all the work, were quickly expelled from the group. That generally amounted to a death sentence, as no one could survive alone, in such a hostile environment.

That all changed, and quite dramatically, with the cultivation of crops, both plants and animals. People were then blessed with a surplus. In honour of the occasion, certain individuals chose to separate other individuals from their property, or at least their freedom, preferably both. This gave rise to the first classes, slaves and slave owners. Welcome to civilization!

The slave owners viewed their slaves as ‘’livestock’’, no different from other animals, such as horses and cattle, aside from the fact that they could speak. For that reason, they treated their slaves the same way they treated other animals. Slaves were given just enough food, clothing and shelter, as was sufficient for their survival, and were also bred, just as other animals were bred. 

The trouble was that slaves were more intelligent than other livestock, although the slave owners saw this as being more ‘’treacherous’’. Not content with their lot in life, they had a rather ‘’annoying’’ habit of rebelling. In response to this, the slave owners devised a ‘’system’’ of keeping the slaves under control. In short, the first ‘’state apparatus’’ was created.

Lenin covered this supremely well in his article, State and Revolution. As he stated, ‘’The state is the product and the manifestation of the irreconcilability of class antagonisms. The state arises when, where and to the extend that class antagonisms cannot be objectively reconciled. And, conversely, the existence of the state proves that the class antagonisms are irreconcilable….According to Marx, the state is the organ of class rule, an organ for the oppression of one class by another; it creates ‘order’, which legalizes and perpetuates this oppression by moderating the collision between the classes’’. (italics by Lenin)

This begs the question: What is the state apparatus? The earliest state apparatus consisted of armed men, frequently on horseback, complete with spears and swords, which they used to crush any slave revolts. Later, other classes were created, such as the nobility and commoners, land owners and family farmers, otherwise known as peasants. 

The point is that no class can exist in isolation. A class can exist only with its ‘’antipode’’, the class opposite to itself. This is to say that the class of nobility can exist only with a corresponding class of ‘’commoners’’, and the land owners can exist only with a corresponding class of peasants, family farmers, or ‘’share croppers’’. 

This brings us to the industrial revolution. Historians view this as the greatest thing to happen to humanity, since the cultivation of crops. In this, they are absolutely correct. It not only made possible mass production, but it created two new classes, a class of capitalists, referred to as the ‘’bourgeois’’, and a corresponding class of workers, hourly employees, referred to as ‘’proletarians’’. Two new revolutionary classes. The Communist Manifesto covers this supremely well.

As is well known, the newly created class of capitalists set themselves up as the new ruling class, largely displacing the previous ruling class of nobility. At the same time, the method of rule, of the nobility, also had to change. That which was sufficient to crush the ‘’commoners’’, was no longer sufficient to crush the newly created, revolutionary class of workers, the proletariat. For that reason, the current ‘’state apparatus’’ was created. This consists of police, courts, jails, prisons and various ‘’correctional institutions’’, all of which must be smashed, at the time of the approaching revolution. 

Yet as classes will continue to exist, even after the revolution, a state apparatus is still required, as the monopoly capitalists, the former multi billionaires, will not resign themselves to their fate. For that reason, a state apparatus is still required. Lenin covered this supremely well, in State and Revolution:

‘’It is often said and written that the core of Marx’s theory is the class struggle; but it is not true. And from this error, very often, springs the opportunist distortion of Marxism, its falsification to make it acceptable to the bourgeoisie. The theory of the class struggle was not created by Marx, but by the bourgeoisie before Marx, and generally speaking it is acceptable to the bourgeoisie. Those who recognize only the class struggle are not yet Marxists; those may be found to have gone no further than the bounds of bourgeois reasoning and bourgeois politics. To limit Marxism to the theory of the class struggle means curtailing Marxism, distorting it, reducing it to something which is acceptable to the bourgeoisie. A Marxist is one who extends the acceptance of the class struggle to the acceptance of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. This is where the profound difference lies between a Marxist and an ordinary petty (and even big) bourgeois. This is the touchstone on which the real understanding and acceptance of Marxism should be tested. …Opportunism does not carry the recognition of class struggle to the main point, to the period of transition from capitalism to Communism, to the period of the overthrow and complete abolition of the bourgeoisie. In reality, this period inevitably becomes a period of unusually violent class struggles, in their sharpest possible forms and, therefore, during this period, the state must inevitably be a state that is democratic in a new way (for the proletariat and propertyless in general) and dictatorial in a new way (against the bourgeoisie).

‘’To proceed. The essence of Marx’s doctrine of the state is assimilated only by those who understand that the dictatorship of a single class is necessary not only for class society in general, not only for the proletariat which has overthrown the bourgeoisie, but for the entire historical period between capitalism and ‘classless society’, Communism….The transition from capitalism to Communism will certainly create a great variety and abundance of political forms, but in essence there will inevitably be only one: the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.’’ (italics by Lenin)

The preceding should provide our ‘’hitherto apathetic’’ worker, with a basic understanding of Scientific Socialism and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. 

The next item on our ‘’Hit Parade’’, is that of ‘’Soviet Power’’. The word ‘’Soviet’’ is Russian, and simply means ‘’Council’’. Contrary to popular belief, it is not an invention of the Russian Marxists, those who referred to themselves as Social Democrats. They could not possibly have created the Soviets, as the Soviets did not appear until 1905, during the First Russian Revolution, quite reasonably referred to as the Revolution of 1905. By that time, the Russian secret police had arrested almost all of the Social Democrats, and had either executed them or sent them into exile. Lenin had been sent into exile.

This is to stress the fact that the Soviets, or Councils, appeared spontaneously, as a result of the revolutionary movement of the working class. The ‘’common people’’, by whom I mean workers and family farmers, otherwise known as peasants, got together and elected leaders, in the form of Soviets. For that reason, there were Soviets of Workers, Soviets of Peasants, and Soviets of Soldiers. 

As the Revolution of 1905 was crushed, in 1907, the Soviets went ‘’underground’’. This is to say that they continued to exist, illegally, secretly, working for the benefit of the common people, as best they could. We know this for a fact, because ten years later, at the time of the Russian February Revolution of 1917, the Soviets reappeared, much stronger than ever. This too, requires a little explanation.

At the beginning of 1917, the First World War was raging. Russia was in an alliance with Britain and France, against Germany and her allies. Russia was also taking some terrible losses, and the common people of the country were suffering terribly. People were starving, especially those in the cities, everyone wanted peace, and the family farmers wanted to own the land they were tilling, rather than having to pay rent to the landlords. For that reason, the slogan was: Peace! Land! Bread!

Also at that time, the Romanovs had been ruling Russia, for three centuries. The Emperor, or Czar, was Nicholas II, and he ruled ‘’with an iron hand’’. He was also married to a German princess, Empress Alexandra, born Princess Alix of Hesse. Not too surprising, she wanted no part of war with her native Germany. From all accounts, she thought Russia was fighting the wrong enemy, and frequently expressed her opinion to her husband Nicholas, the Czar of Russia. 

The British and French imperialists were well aware of her sentiments. They were afraid that Czar Nicholas would listen to his wife, make a separate peace with Germany, and worse, Russia could even join Germany in her war with Britain and France. God forbid!

For that reason, the British and French diplomats, working through their embassies in the capital of Petrograd, set to work, with the goal of deposing Czar Nicholas. With their immense wealth, they were able to bribe high ranking Russian officials, both civilian and military. Bear in mind that they wanted Nicholas removed from the throne, because they wanted to continue the war!

At the same time, the common people of Russia, both workers and peasants, also wanted Nicholas removed from the throne, because they wanted peace! Same goal, opposite reasons!

At that time, Lenin was living in Switzerland, closely following the Revolution in Russia, as best he could. He then wrote a series of articles, referred to as ‘’Letters From Afar’’. In his first letter, he referred to the ‘’Soviet of Workers Deputies’’, as being one of the ‘’three fundamental political forces’’. He went on to state, 

‘’That the revolution succeeded so quickly and- seemingly, at the first superficial glance- so radically, is only due to the fact that, as a result of an extremely unique historical situation, absolutely dissimilar currents, absolutely heterogeneous class interests, absolutely contrary political and social strivings have merged, and in a strikingly harmonious manner. Namely, the conspiracy of the Anglo- French imperialists, who impelled Milyukov, Guchkov and Co. to seize power for the purpose of continuing the imperialist war, for the purpose of conducting the war still more ferociously and obstinately, for the purpose of slaughtering fresh millions of Russian workers and peasants, in order that the Guchkovs might obtain Constantinople, the French capitalists Syria, the British capitalists Mesopotamia, and so on. This on the one hand. On the other, there was a profound proletarian and mass popular movement of a revolutionary character (a movement of the entire poorest section of the population of town and country), for bread, for peace, for real freedom.’’ (italics by Lenin)

It is important to note that there was no ‘’alliance’’, between the common people of Russia, the workers and peasants, with the imperialists of Britain and France. Instead, there was a ‘’merger’’, of ‘’absolutely contrary political strivings’’. This is to say that the common people of Russia wanted Nicholas deposed, because they wanted peace, while the imperialists of Britain and France wanted Nicholas deposed, because they wanted war! Truly, ‘’truth is stranger than fiction’’!

Lenin then went on to say:

‘’There has arisen the chief, unofficial, as yet undeveloped and comparatively weak workers’ government, which expresses the interest of the proletariat and of the entire poor section of the urban and rural population. This is the Soviet of Workers Deputies in Petrograd, which is seeking connections with the soldiers and peasants, and also with the agricultural workers, with the latter particularly and primarily, of course, more than with the peasants….

‘’The Soviet of Workers Deputies is an organization of the workers, the embryo of a workers’ government, the representative of the interests of the entire mass of the poor section of the population, i.e. (that is), of nine tenths of the population, which is striving for peace, bread, and freedom.’’ (italics by Lenin)

It is significant that these Soviets, or Councils, represent a ‘’workers government’’, or more accurately, the ‘’embryo of a workers government’’, as Lenin phrased it. It was not by chance that they appeared in the capital of Petrograd, as they tend to be a creation of the industrial proletariat. From the industries, they attempted to ‘’seek connections’’ with the soldiers, agricultural workers and family farmers, peasants. All workers are well aware that there is strength in numbers!

Lenin then proceeded to give some fine advice, as he considered the abdication of Nicholas, the overthrow of the monarchy, as merely the first ‘’stage’’ of the revolution, and it needed to ‘’transition’’ to the second stage:

 ‘’Workers, you have performed miracles of proletarian heroism, the heroism of the people, in the civil war against czarism. You must perform miracles of organization, organization of the proletariat and of the whole people, to prepare the way for your victory in the second stage of the revolution.’’ (italics by Lenin)

There can be no doubt that Soviets have also appeared here, in North America, although they are called Councils. Recently, a portion of the city of Seattle, that of Capital Hill, elected a Council, and declared itself to be Autonomous. Of course the federal government quickly crushed that Zone. Yet it is doubtful that the Council was crushed. It very likely that it just went underground. It is also very likely that there are a great many other Councils, all across the country, especially in areas which are highly industrialized. 

May I suggest that it is now appropriate for those Councils to take the advice of Lenin, and ‘’seek connections’’ with the broad mass of the population, including the military personnel, the rural agricultural workers and the family farmers. After all, these Councils are the ‘’embryo of a workers government’’. 

Bear in mind that, after the Russian Czar Nicholas II was removed from office, a Provisional Government was created. Yet the Soviets were so powerful, that government was forced to share power with the Soviets! In fact, the Soviets were so powerful, the Provisional Government did not dare to arrest Lenin, at the time he returned from exile, in April of 1917. Much as they wanted to ‘’throw him in the slammer’’, as soon as he set foot on the railroad platform, in Petrograd.

We can draw a parallel between our current situation, and that of Russia, immediately after the February Revolution, which removed the Czar from the throne. Lenin referred to this as the ‘’first stage of the revolution’’, as indeed it was. The Czar was a ‘’monarch’’, so that he had almost unlimited power, while the people had almost no democratic rights. So of course the ‘’first stage’’ had to be his overthrow. As the Russian February Revolution succeeded in removing Nicholas from the throne, it ‘’paved the way’’ for the ‘’next stage’’ of the Russian Revolution. That ‘’next stage’’ was the overthrow of the ruling class of monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, and the establishment of a state of Scientific Socialism, in the form of Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

The revolutionary movement of the working class, at least here in America, has made great strides. As recently as 2011, at the time of the Occupy Movement, the working class people referred to themselves as being the ‘’99 percent’’, which the class of multi billionaires, the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, was referred to as the ‘’1 percent’’. Devoid of class content!

Yet now the members of the working class are referring to themselves as just that, working class people. Further, the multi billionaires, the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, are being referred to as the ‘’Oligarchy Class’’. Class content! The working class is becoming class conscious! More aware of themselves as a class!

Further, the recent ‘’No Kings’’ protest, in which many millions of people ‘’took to the streets’’, from ‘’coast to coast’’, from all cities and towns, marks a ‘’turning point’’ in the revolutionary motion. It means that the Revolution is now ‘’broad and deep’’, extending to all strata of the population. As well, not one protester was arrested! This means that the local police have ‘’backed off’’, or ‘’adopted a position of neutrality’’, to phrase it in diplomatic terms. It also means that the local police are one step away from joining the Revolution!

We must now prepare for the ‘’next stage’’ of the American Revolution, just as the workers and farmers of Russia prepared for their ‘’next stage’’, after the overthrow of the Czar. That ‘’next stage’’ consists of ‘’organization’’, that of the working class, and of the ‘’whole people’’, which is to say family farmers and farm labourers, in rural areas, as happened in Russia, in preparation for the next stage of the American Revolution! Councils must also be established in rural areas. 

All Americans must be made aware that the Scientific Socialist Revolution is about to take place, starting with an Insurrection. Workers must be armed, equipped and trained, in preparation for that Insurrection. As well, after the Revolution, certain workers will be placed in positions of authority, under Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. The training they receive now, will prove to be most valuable.

This brings us to our final subject, that of Communism. By definition, a Communist society is a classless society. Yet after the Scientific Socialist Revolution, after the class of monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, is overthrown, after the existing state apparatus is smashed, and replaced with Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, classes will continue to exist! For that reason, a state apparatus is still required, in order to crush them, as they make every effort to restore capitalism, to return to power.

Lenin covers this supremely well, in his article, Left Wing Communism, An Infantile Disorder. As he stated:

‘’The Dictatorship of the Proletariat means a most determined and most ruthless war. waged by the new class, against a more powerful enemy, the bourgeoisie, whose resistance is increased tenfold by their overthrow (even if only in one country), and whose power lies, not only in the strength of international capital, the strength and durability of their international connections, but also in the force of habit, in the strength of small scale production. Unfortunately, small scale production is still wide spread in the world, and small scale production engenders capitalism and the bourgeoisie continuously, daily, hourly, spontaneously, and on a mass scale. All these reasons make the Dictatorship of the Proletariat necessary, and victory over the bourgeoisie is impossible without a long, stubborn and desperate life and death struggle, which calls for tenacity, discipline, and a single and inflexible will.’’ (italics by Lenin)

This is to say that the state apparatus, in the form of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, will be necessary, for a considerable time after the revolution, until classes are wiped out. This period of time is referred to as a state of ‘’Scientific Socialism’’. It is only after all classes are wiped out, that we will enter a state of Communism, a classless society.

Lenin covers this ‘’transition period’’, this state of Scientific Socialism, between that of capitalism and a true classless society of Communism, in his article, State and Revolution.

In conclusion, it is reasonable to assume that a great many ‘’hitherto apathetic’’ workers, will find these technical terms to be tiresome, to put it politely. Be that as it may, it cannot be helped. Rest assured, if workers are not aware of the meaning of those terms, the capitalists will not hesitate to use our lack of awareness against us. And yes, I speak from experience. 

In the work by Lenin, that of What Is To Be Done?, he states, in reference to ‘’discussing our duties to the workers’’: 

‘’This fact proves that our very first and most imperative duty is to help to train working class revolutionaries, who will be on the same level in regard to Party activity as intellectual revolutionaries (we emphasize the words ‘in regard to Party activity’, because although it is necessary, it is not so easy and not so imperative to bring the workers up to the level of intellectuals in other respects). Therefore, attention must be devoted principally to the task of raising the workers to the level of revolutionaries, and not to degrading ourselves to the level of the ‘labour masses’, as the Economists wish to do, or necessarily to the level of the average worker….I am far from denying the necessity for popular literature for the workers, and especially popular (but of course, not vulgar) literature for the especially backward workers.’’ (italics by Lenin)

In previous articles, I have compared the class war to a boxing match, in which one boxer is blindfolded, swinging wildly in all directions. On occasion, he is bound to strike a crushing blow, but this is more by chance than skill. By contrast, his opponent strikes blow after blow, as he can see very well. 

Of course, in my imaginary boxing match, the boxer with the blindfold represents the working class, while the boxer who can see so well represents the capitalist class of multi billionaires. The blindfold represents the lack of class awareness among the working class, and must be removed. The act of raising the level of awareness of the working class, the proletariat, or at least the most advanced workers, to the level of Scientific Socialists, is to ‘’remove the blindfold’’, so to speak. 

It may be objected, quite reasonably, that we do not currently have a Communist Party. True! Yet that is not to say that I am ‘’putting the cart before the horse’’! The act of raising as many workers as possible, to the level of Scientific Socialists, revolutionary intellectuals, is an important step towards the creation of a Party!

Lenin wrote an article in 1918, titled The Proletarian Revolution and the Renegade Kautsky. At the end of that article, he made a statement which is extremely relevant today:

‘’Europe’s greatest misfortune and danger is that it has no revolutionary party. It has parties of traitors…but it has no revolutionary party. 

‘’Of course, a mighty, popular revolutionary movement may rectify this deficiency, but it is nevertheless a serious misfortune and a grave danger. 

‘’That is why we must do our utmost to expose renegades like Kautsky, thereby supporting the revolutionary groups of genuine internationalist workers, who are to be found in all countries. The proletariat will very soon turn away from the traitors and renegades and follow these groups, drawing and training leaders from their midst. No wonder the bourgeoisie of all countries are howling about ‘world Bolshevism’.

‘’World Bolshevism will conquer world bourgeoisie’’. (italics by Lenin, at that time Communism was referred to as Bolshevism)

Without doubt, we currently do not have a true Communist Party, one which calls for Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. We certainly have no shortage of ‘’parties of traitors’’! Equally without doubt, we are now experiencing a ‘’mighty, popular revolutionary movement’’, which ‘’may rectify this deficiency’’.

Clearly, it is up to us, Scientific Socialists, to ‘’rise to the occasion’’, to ‘’expose renegades’’, those who are ‘’revisionists’’, as a means of supporting the ‘’revolutionary groups of genuine internationalist workers’’, who are located in ‘’all countries’’. This will hasten the day that the ‘’proletariat turns away from these traitors and renegades’’, and subsequently ‘’follow these groups’’.  In this way, we can help to at least ‘’pave the way’’ for a true Communist Party.

It is also a fact that, as is stated in the Communist Manifesto: 

‘’Finally, in times when the class struggle nears the decisive hour, the process of dissolution going on within the ruling class, in fact within the whole range of old society, assumes such a violent, glaring character, that a small section of the ruling class cuts itself adrift, and joins the revolutionary class, the class that holds the future in its hands. Just as, therefore, at an earlier period, a section of the nobility went over to the bourgeoisie, so now a portion of the bourgeoisie goes over to the proletariat, and in particular, a portion of the bourgeois ideologists, who have raised themselves to the level of comprehending theoretically the historical movement as a whole .’’

There can be no doubt that the ‘’class struggle’’ is indeed ‘’near the decisive hour’’, as the ‘’process of dissolution going on within the ruling class’’, in this case the bourgeoisie, has assumed a ‘’violent, glaring character’’. Now we can expect a ‘’portion of the bourgeoisie’’, and in particular the ‘’bourgeois ideologists’’, those who have ‘’raised themselves to the level of comprehending theoretically the historical movement as a whole’’, to ‘’come over to the proletariat’’, the ‘’class that holds the future in its hands’’. 

It is reasonable to expect those bourgeois ideologists to take part in the creation of a true Communist Party, one which calls for Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. Their education and training makes this well within their ability. As well, it is in their best interests to do so. After all, working people need leaders, and it is only a Communist Party that can provide that leadership. 

Under the leadership of a true Communist Party, the approaching Insurrection, which will ‘’kick start’’ the next American Revolution, will be far more likely to succeed. As well, under a state of Scientific Socialism, the skills of those bourgeois intellectuals will be put to good use.

In anticipation of their arrival, allow me to say, Welcome, My Brothers and Sisters, My Comrades! You have a bright future under the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

As for those members of the working class, who are prejudiced against intellectuals, may I suggest that you get over it! After all, both Marx and Lenin were middle class intellectuals. 

I can only hope that this article proves to be helpful. We will know that we are being successful, when such expressions as Scientific Socialism, Dictatorship of the Proletariat, and Soviet Power, are common place, among the working class.

The Republic of Albania is a sovereign nation in the southwestern part of the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, North Macedonia to the east, and Greece to the south. It has a coastline along the Adriatica and Ionian Seas, both of which are part of the Mediterranean Sea. 

It is Sazan Island, along with one particular part of this coastline, which is currently the centre of a major controversy. That Island and coastline has, until very recently, been classified as a ‘’wildlife sanctuary’’, so that no industrial development was permitted. It is the nesting grounds for numerous species of migratory birds, including pink flamingoes. 

But then, Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the President, and her husband, Jared Kushner, visited the Island, and reportedly ‘’fell in love with it’’. In fact, they loved this ‘’pristine environment’’ so much, they decided to destroy it. To be replaced with an ‘’eco resort community’’, including hotels, apartments, villas and a marina, in the interests of being ‘’faithful and considerate of the environment’’.

At that time, there was one minor problem, which was quickly resolved. By law, no industrial development could take place, as it was a wildlife sanctuary. So Ivanka and Jared simply met with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama. At that informal, friendly ‘’social gathering’’, it is very likely that a little ‘’palm greasing’’ took place. The government of Albania immediately became ‘’sweetly reasonable’’, and all laws limiting industrial development, within those wildlife sanctuaries, became ‘’null and void’’. Problem solved.

Work crews were immediately sent into Sazan Island, complete with bulldozers, and set to work building a ‘’playground for the bourgeoisie’’, starting with barbed wire fences, presumably to keep out the ‘’undesirables’’, the ‘’ragtag and bobtail’’, the ‘’common people’’ of Albania, by whom I of course mean the workers and family farmers.

It is to the credit of the working people of Albania, that they immediately responded, by disrupting the construction work. The barbed wire fences were pushed over, and massive protests began all across the country, especially in the capital of Tirana. These protests have placed the common people of Albania, in the forefront of the international working class movement. For that reason, they deserve our unconditional support.

There are numerous videos available on the internet, concerning the Albanian protests. It is safe to say that almost all are made by ‘’Leftist’’ journalists, those who are at least sympathetic to the protesters. They generally provide a reasonably accurate description of the events taking place, including the size of the crowds, the posters and symbols on display, mainly in the form of flamingoes, and the demands that are being put forward.  

It is also safe to say that almost all of those same journalists are middle class, petty bourgeois, as their understanding of events, their analysis, is clouded by their middle class prejudices.Yet their analysis, even though faulty, is stated as facts. Many viewers, especially those who are new to the revolutionary movement, may confuse their faulty analysis with facts. 

For that reason, it calls for a little explanation. No doubt, a great many middle class readers will find this to be quite tiresome, a crashing bore, as they are already well aware of the revolutionary history. Yet for this I make no apologizes. After all, my main focus is on the working class, the proletariat, the ‘’only consistently revolutionary class’’, according to Lenin, or as is stated in the Communist Manifesto, ‘’the revolutionary class, the class that holds the future in its hands.’’

In my opinion, it is now quite clear that, in various countries of the world, and not just Albania, the situation is indeed revolutionary. I fully expect a proletarian revolution to break out and spread to numerous countries of the world. The reason I say this, is because of that which Lenin stated, in Left Wing Communism, An Infantile Disorder:

‘’The fundamental law of revolution, which has been confirmed by all revolutions, and especially by all three Russian revolutions in the twentieth century, is as follows: for a revolution to take place, it is not enough for the exploited and oppressed masses to realize the impossibility of living in the old way, and demand changes; for a revolution to take place, it is essential that the exploiters should not be able to live and rule in the old way. It is only when the ‘lower classes’ do not want to live in the old way, and the ‘upper classes’ cannot carry on in the old way, that the revolution can triumph. This truth can be expressed in other words: revolution is impossible without a nation wide crisis (affecting both the exploiters and the exploited). It follows that, for a revolution to take place, it is essential first, that a majority of the workers (or at least a majority of the class conscious, thinking, and politically active workers), should fully realize that revolution is necessary, and that they should be prepared to die for it; second, that the ruling classes should be going through a governmental crisis, which draws even the most backward masses into politics (symptomatic of any genuine revolution is a rapid, tenfold and even hundredfold increase in the size of the working and oppressed masses- hitherto apathetic- who are capable of waging the political struggle), weakens the government, and makes it possible for the revolutionaries to rapidly overthrow it.’’ (italics by Lenin)

I consider the preceding paragraph to be of supreme importance. I would love to see it in poster form, and placed on the walls of all advanced workers, as well as on the walls of all union halls. I would be the first to buy a copy.

It is a very accurate description of the events currently taking place, within various countries of the world. These ‘’governmental crises’’ are indeed ‘’drawing in the most backward masses into politics’’. The ‘’lower classes’’ are indeed ‘’demanding change’’, while the ‘’upper classes’’ can no longer rule in the old way. The situation is absolutely revolutionary, in so many countries of the world. Now it is a matter of raising the level of awareness of those who were ‘’hitherto apathetic’’, of bringing them ‘’up to speed’’.  

The people of Albania have a revolutionary history, of which they can be most proud. In 1946, the Party of Labour of Albania, the PPSh, led by Enver Hoxha, established the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania. 

The PPSh was a true Communist Party, one which called for Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. It was absolutely not revisionist. 

The death of Stalin, in 1953, was followed by the return to power of the Russian capitalists, led by the revisionists, the social chauvinists, those who are socialists in words, chauvinists in deeds. Great pressure was brought to bear, on all countries ‘’within the Russian orbit’’, to also adopt this revisionist dogma. It is to the credit of Albania that they ‘’resisted the temptation’’. They remained a true Scientific Socialist state. 

It is also a fact that, in 1949, the People’s Republic of China, the PRC, was created. Led by Mao Tse Tung, it too, was a true Scientific Socialist state. They joined the Albanians in resisting the Russian social chauvinists, until the death of Mao, in 1976. At that time, the Chinese revisionists were also able to restore capitalism in China. Yet the Albanian Scientific Socialists, refused to embrace the revisionist Marxism. For several years they stood alone, on the world stage, surrounded by capitalist countries. 

The death of Enver Hoxha, in 1985, led to his successor, Ramiz Alia, a man who was not up to the task. In 1991, the social chauvinists were also able to restore capitalism in the country of Albania.

As I have documented in previous articles, those formerly Scientific Socialist republics failed, due to mistakes that were made by the leaders. Those mistakes allowed the capitalists to return to power. To briefly summarize, the Chinese Communists conducted a proper criticism of Stalin, after his death, and concluded that he was a fine Marxist, but had made several serious mistakes. These mistakes allowed the Russian capitalists to return to power. In order to prevent a similar event from happening to China, they launched the Great Chinese Proletarian Cultural Revolution. 

Yet after the death of Mao, the Chinese capitalists were also able to return to power. This was due to the fact that the Chinese Communists also made a number of mistakes. The Cultural Revolution did not go far enough, as it was largely confined to culture. It did not penetrate deeply into science. The capitalists who were hiding in various fields of science, remained hidden, biding their time, waiting for the proper moment to strike. The death of Mao provided that opportunity. 

As well, the Chinese Communist Party was not properly purged, on a periodic basis, as was recommended by Lenin. Instead, Mao and other Party officials chose to ‘’patiently struggle’’ with Communist Party members, pointing out the error of their ways, including those who were high ranking, even within the Central Committee. It was a serious mistake. They should have been removed from the Party.

It is now our duty, that of Scientific Socialists, Communists, to learn from the experience of previous revolutionaries, from their successes, as well as their mistakes. Especially their mistakes! So that we do not repeat those same mistakes!

Allow me to stress the fact that, even after the approaching Revolution, after the existing state apparatus is smashed, and replaced with a new state apparatus, in the form of Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, classes will continue to exist! The multi billionaires, the bourgeoisie, will continue to exist! They will not resign themselves to their fate! They will make every effort to ‘’restore their paradise lost’’! They will resort to every lie, deception, deceit, subterfuge, in an attempt to return to power! Just as they managed, in the Soviet Union, China and Albania! They are not to be under estimated! They will even pretend to be Communists, true Scientific Socialists, in order to infiltrate the Communist Party, insert their revisionist ideology, and mount a coup!

Lenin covers this supremely well, in his excellent article, Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism.

Now to return to the ‘’Flamingo Revolution’’, currently taking place in Albania. The working people of Albania have a great deal of experience, in fighting the capitalists. As I write this, there is a video, on the internet, showing the protesters ‘’vandalizing’’ the construction site. In fact, they are completely smashing it! Bravo, Albanians! It is a true Revolution, in the finest sense of the word. It merely lacks focus. The people taking part in that Revolution, have to be made aware that the capitalists have managed to return to power, and must be overthrown. 

It is the duty of Scientific Socialists, true Communists, to bring that awareness to the working people. For the most part, that means middle class intellectuals. No doubt, there are a few such people within Albania. 

Now for the benefit of those countless members of the working class, who are just now becoming politically active, as a result of the revolutionary movement, I should mention that the word Soviet is Russian, and means Council. It remains to be seen whether the word Soviet or the word Council will become common place in North America. Either way, these Councils almost always take shape, as a result of the revolutionary movement.

Also, those of us who are students of Marx and Lenin, tend to refer to ourselves as ‘’Scientific Socialists’’, or ‘’Communists’’, as a means of distinguishing ourselves from the utopian socialists, those who tend to think that socialism is merely a good idea.

Further, among the utopian socialists, we have to distinguish between those who are honest, merely misinformed, as opposed to those who are social chauvinists, revisionists, determined to distort and revise the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. The revisionists are the bitter enemies of the Scientific Socialists. They are determined to take over the existing state apparatus, at the time of the revolution, and set themselves up, as the new rulers.

I mention this in the spirit of true international, proletarian cooperation. Or as Marx stated, 

Workers of the World, Unite!

Dictatorship of the Proletariat!

As I write this, it is late May, 2026. The Republican Party, led by President Donald Trump, has a majority in both Houses of Congress, which is to say the House of Representatives, and the Senate. Yet the Senate recently passed a bill, which blocks the authority of Trump, to further prosecute the illegal war in the Middle East. Even though that war involves numerous countries, including Israel, Lebanon and various countries which are home to American military bases, the mainstream press persists in referring to it as the ‘’War with Iran’’.

As is standard procedure, that particular bill was then sent to the House of Representatives, as such a bill has to be passed by both Houses of Congress, before being sent to the President. At that point, the President has the option of either signing the bill into law, or vetoing the bill. Should he choose to veto the bill, then his veto can be overridden, by a two thirds vote of both Houses of Congress. At that point, the bill becomes law.

The House has yet to take a vote on that bill, for the very fine reason that the Speaker of the House, he who is commonly referred to as ‘’MAGA’’ Mike Johnson, ‘’dissolved’’ the House of Representatives, at least until some time in June. All Members of the House have been ‘’sent home’’, until a future date, ‘’yet to be determined’’.

The Speaker of the House is referred to as ‘’MAGA’’, for a reason. MAGA, or Make America Great Again, is the slogan of Donald Trump. And rest assured, Mike Johnson is one of the most ardent supporters of Donald Trump. Or to phrase it in more popular terms, he is widely considered to be ‘’in the pocket’’ of Donald Trump. He has well earned the nickname of ‘’MAGA’’!

This is not to say that Mike Johnson is completely stupid, as he most certainly is not. On the contrary, he is smart enough to realize that a vote on that bill would almost certainly pass the House, and be sent to President Trump. He is equally well aware that Trump would almost certainly veto the bill, which could well trigger another vote, in an effort to override that veto, perish forbid!

Even though such an ‘’override vote’’ would likely fail, the very fact of the vote taking place, would serve to ‘’embarrass’’ Donald Trump. He would stand more exposed! And rest assured, Donald Trump is not a man who embraces exposure! Praise and flattery are the ‘’way to his heart’’! His closest advisors, sycophants one and all, belly crawling boot lickers, can testify to that fact! 

The Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, is supremely well aware of this. He is equally well aware of the fact that any exposure of the true nature of Trump, can lead to most unpleasant consequences. The ‘’Wrath of Trump’’! Even if Johnson is not personally responsible, Trump can still be counted upon to ‘’throw him under the bus’’, if only ‘’because he can’’!

There is a reason that the vote on this bill, which limits the power of Trump to prosecute the war in the Middle East, passed the Senate, and will very likely pass in the House. It came about as a result of that which is commonly referred to as ‘’public pressure’’, which is to say the pressure, from the working people, against the Middle Eastern War. This movement, against the war, is part of a revolutionary movement against the ruling class of monopoly capitalists, the multi billionaires, the imperialists, technically referred to as the bourgeoisie. It is certain to break out into open class warfare, a full scale Revolution, a Second American Revolution, very soon.

I have come to this conclusion, as I am a Scientific Socialist, a follower of Marx and Lenin, a true Communist. I also write in a popular manner, as I am mainly focused upon the common people, by whom I mean workers and family farmers, and especially the hourly employees, the proletariat. After all, it is the proletariat which is the class of people which is destined to overthrow the monopoly capitalists, the multi billionaires, the imperialists, the bourgeoisie.

Yet even after the Revolution, classes will continue to exist. The existing state apparatus, which has been set up by the bourgeoisie, in order to crush the ‘’lower classes’’, will be smashed, at the time of the Revolution, and replaced with a different state apparatus. This new state apparatus is referred to as Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. It is necessary to crush the former ruling class of monopoly capitalists, as they make every effort, after the Revolution, to ‘’restore their paradise lost’’. 

This is well known to all Scientific Socialists, true Communists, as we carefully study the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. Political science is just that, a science, and must be pursued as a science. The experience of previous revolutions must be evaluated. We must learn from that experience, the failures as well as the successes. In this way, we are determined to avoid the mistakes of previous well meaning revolutionaries.

The two formerly socialist countries of the Soviet Union and China, provide us with instructive examples. In each case, the ruling classes of both countries were first overthrown, as the revolutionaries followed the correct procedures of Marx and Lenin. Yet the capitalists were able to return to power, as the leaders of the common people, fine Scientific Socialists, made certain mistakes. We have identified the mistakes of both Stalin and Mao, and are determined not to repeat those mistakes. As I have covered that extensively, in previous articles, there is no need to repeat it here.

That which is not so well known, is that bourgeois intellectuals also study those same Scientific Socialist Revolutionary theories, but for an entirely different reason. They are focused on determining the best way to distort those theories. These distortions, also known as revisions, are then taught in all Universities, to students who are, for the most part, members of that same class. Those students are then expected to carry those revisions into the groups leading the revolutionary movement, in an attempt to divert that movement, onto some harmless path of paltry reforms.

There is a point to that rather lengthy introduction. For once, I am focused on a different class, that of the petty bourgeois, and in particular, the ‘’upper stratum’’ of the ‘’middle class’’. As I just mentioned, the intellectuals of that class are supremely well aware of the Scientific Socialist Revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin.

To those bourgeois intellectuals, may I suggest a ‘’reality check’’. The finest of the American military analysts are admitting that Iran is winning the Middle East War. The American Empire is collapsing. The national debt is approaching forty trillion dollars, and if Trump has his way, will sky rocket. The revolutionary movement in the country is reaching a fever pitch, and will break out into open rebellion at any time. Now is not the time to ‘’straddle the fence’’. The ‘’writing is on the wall’’. Now is the time to ‘’cut your losses’’, before you lose everything. Feel free to face the fact that Marx and Lenin were correct. So ‘’jump on the bandwagon’’, join the working people taking part in this, the Second American Revolution. You will not be disappointed. 

Still not convinced? Perhaps you still have ‘’visions of joining the ranks of the bourgeoisie’’, ‘’dancing in your heads’’? That is not about to happen! Those who are worth hundreds of billions have ‘’laid down the law’’. They are about to set up an Oligarchy, a select few people, so that the ‘’books are closed’’.

There are only five businesses that are ‘’Too Big To Fail’’. All other businesses, including General Electric and General Motors, are ‘’Too Small To Succeed’’. The owners of those companies, including your own, are about to face bankruptcy, to be thrust into the ranks of the working class.

That is ‘’one side of the coin’’, so to speak. The flip side of the coin is that you have a bright future, should you choose to work in the service of the proletariat. Allow me to point out to you, that which you are already well aware, but refuse to face. Of course, I am referring to a passage from the Communist Manifesto, written by Marx and Engels, which sums up our current situation:

‘’Finally, in times when the class struggle nears the decisive hour, the process of dissolution going on within the ruling class, in fact within the whole range of old society, assumes such a violent, glaring character, that a small section of the ruling class cuts itself adrift, and joins the revolutionary class, the class that holds the future in its hands. Just as, therefore, at an earlier period, a section of the nobility went over to the bourgeoisie, so now a portion of the bourgeoisie goes over to the proletariat, and in particular, a portion of the bourgeois ideologists, who have raised themselves to the level of comprehending theoretically the historical movement as a whole .’’

Without doubt, the ‘’class struggle’’ is near the ‘’decisive hour’’. The ‘’ruling class’’ of bourgeoisie is deeply divided, with one section determined to establish the rule of an Oligarchy, while another section, led by Trump, is equally determined to set him up as Emperor. Now it is time for a ‘’portion of the bourgeoisie’’ to ‘’go over to the proletariat’’, and that ‘’portion’’ is yourselves, the ‘’bourgeois ideologists’’, as you have succeeded in ‘’raising yourselves theoretically’’ to ‘’comprehending’’ the ‘’historical movement as a whole’’. 

The working class, the proletariat, must be made aware of themselves, as a class, with their own class interests. You are in a unique position to raise their level of awareness. Feel free to explain to them the method of deception the capitalists use, in order to maintain their rule.

Now is the time to prepare for the Insurrection. Councils, otherwise known as Soviets, must be built and strengthened. These Councils assist the working people in various ways, both legal and illegal. This assistance comes in the form of food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for the homeless and needy, and possible relocation for battered women, among other things. 

As well, in preparation for the Insurrection, workers are being armed, equipped and trained. Weapons can include such items as sling shots, paint ball guns and simple spears, as well as firearms. As I have covered this in previous articles, there is no need to repeat it here.

Certain of the more advanced workers can be given the task of locating the huge animals I have identified. Those are the same animals which the bourgeois scientists claim be be extinct. The directions for locating those animals I have earlier documented. It is not difficult, but it is dangerous. To take part in a major scientific break through will serve to raise the morale and confidence of the working class, while at the same time serving to expose the lies and hypocrisy of the bourgeoisie.

The most advanced workers must be encouraged to assume leadership roles in various working class organizations, especially trade unions. As well, they should join both mainstream political parties, as card carrying members, along with their families and friends. In this way, they can run for political office, as members of both parties, possibly against themselves. Their political platform can include: increases in the pensions, tax free; free medical, dental, hearing and vision; free education; abolish all student loans; increase the minimum wage; defend the right to bear arms; make the rich pay their fair share. This is certain to secure the support of countless working people, everyone from seniors to students. What is more, it is completely legal. I have covered this in previous articles.

Such activity will serve as valuable training, in preparation for leadership roles they will have to assume, after the Revolution, under the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

On the ‘’legal front’’, so to speak, may I suggest hiring an attorney, an expert in Constitutional law, or better yet a group of such attorneys, to challenge the 2024 Presidential Election, on the grounds that it did not follow the procedure laid out in the Twelfth Amendment to the Constitution. As I have covered this in previous articles, there is no need to repeat it here. Suffice it to say that Trump is a fraudulent President, and Vance is a fraudulent Vice President. A simple ruling to that effect, by the Supreme Court, will result in their removal from office. Even if the Supreme Court refuses to rule on the matter, the level of awareness of the working class will be increased.
As well, there is an urgent need for a true Communist Party, one which calls for Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, the one and only true form of Scientific Socialism. After all, working people need leaders, and that leadership must come from Scientific Socialists. Here too, with your organizational skills, you are in a unique position to take part in the creation of such a Communist Party, Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

Bear in mind that both Marx and Lenin were members of the bourgeois intelligentsia. They too, turned their backs on a rather comfortable middle class existence, in order to work in the service of the common people. Feel free to ‘’walk in their footsteps’’. Your previous experience, in the service of the bourgeoisie, will not be held against you. On the contrary, you can use that experience to drive home the point that classes exist, and that the class interests are diametrically opposed. This will help to raise the level of awareness of the proletariat.

In conclusion, the bourgeoisie have made it abundantly clear that they have every intention of destroying your class. Which in no way changes the fact that they expect you to continue to serve them, to the best of your ability. In popular terms, ‘’streets have been named after them’’. Those streets are named ‘’One Way’’. 

Without doubt, most middle class intellectuals will continue to serve their ‘’Lords and Masters’’, the bourgeoisie. As the Communist Manifesto makes clear, it is only a ‘’portion’’ of those ideologists who will ‘’make the jump’’. The remainder will ‘’remain faithful’’, much as a lapdog remains faithful.

There is a price to be paid for this loyalty. After the successful Scientific Socialist Revolution, after the existing state apparatus is smashed, and in turn replaced with a state of Soviet Power and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, these loyal lapdogs will join their former masters in remote work camps, performing useful, productive labour, for perhaps the first time in their lives. It may help to think of this as a reward for their years of faithful service. They certainly earned it!

By contrast, as previously mentioned, those who have joined the revolutionary movement, can expect to play a key role in building a new society. Working people do a number of things very well. Running a business is not one of them. Those who attempt this, generally manage to run that business ‘’into the ground’’. We will need people with the proper organizational and management skills. Of course I am referring to you people, middle class intellectuals. You can expect to be placed in key positions of management, and paid accordingly. You can also expect to take pride in your work, with good reason.

For those among you who choose to join the proletariat, the ‘’revolutionary class’’, the ‘’class that holds the future in its hands’’, allow me to express a most heartfelt greeting: ‘’Welcome My Brothers and Sisters, My Comrades’’!

The idea that our civilization is ‘’about to collapse’’, that we are on the ‘’eve of destruction’’, that we are ‘’close to the end time’’, is nothing new. On the contrary, numerous ‘’Doomsday Prophets’’ have been preaching this for hundreds of years. Previously, all such ‘’Prophets’’ have been deeply disappointed, when the world did not ‘’come to an end’’, on their appointed dates. 

Recent advances in science and technology, as a result of our modern civilization, have not spared us from such nonsense. The modern day ‘’Prophets’’ have merely adapted their rhetoric, now phrasing their predictions in more ‘’scientific’’ terms. 

One of the methods they use, is to present certain facts, such as the length of time certain empires existed, and their analysis of the events which led to their decline and eventual collapse. These ‘’events’’ they tend to refer to as ‘’stages’’, which invariably lead to the  subsequent ‘’reversion to a state of barbarism’’. It is further their opinion that our civilization is in the ‘’late stages of decline’’, ‘’close to collapse’’. They would have us believe that a ‘’Second Stone Age’’ is ‘’right around the corner’’!

As this nonsense is now wide spread, and being propagated by bourgeois scholars, people who are of considerable education, it deserves our attention. The reason for this, is that working class people tend to have the greatest respect for those with University degrees.

In particular, they are alleging that one of the top Universities in the country, has predicted that our society will ‘’collapse in the year 2040’’. They base this prediction on the conclusion that ‘’our current usage of the world’s resources was unsustainable’’. As a means of ‘’adding weight’’ to their findings, they mention that ‘’the study was one of the first to use computers, sporting dynamic systematic models’’. Whatever that means!

The narrator went on to explain that ‘’system dynamics’’ is a ‘’piece of software that attempts to replicate the workings of complex real life systems by replicating them in software’’. He further added that this study took place ‘’in the nineteen sixties and seventies’’.

Allow me to add that a ‘’piece of software’’ is merely a computer program, a bit of information which is fed into a computer. As all electrical engineers can testify, a computer merely runs programs. All computers are merely as accurate as the programs which they are running. If the information the computers are initially given is faulty, then the conclusions they reach, as a result of their calculations, are also faulty. 

Without doubt, it was bourgeois scientists, of yesteryear, who attempted to ‘’replicate the workings of complex real life systems’’, in a computer program. Equally without doubt, they failed miserably. 

This is not too surprising, as all scientists are well aware that ‘’generally accepted scientific theories’’, are not to be challenged. The penalty for challenging any such theory, is ‘’career suicide’’. Such people are never again allowed to earn a living, working in any field of science.

This brings us to the Scientific Socialist Revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. All scientists are exposed to those theories in University, as it is only the distortion of those theories that is ‘’taught’’. The fact that Marx proved, through a thorough analysis of capitalism, that it would, of necessity, lead to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, is denied, to this day. That is the key detail which is lacking, in the programs of all computers. 

To briefly summarize that which I have documented in previous articles, around three hundred years ago, the industrial revolution took place. Historians have described this as the most important thing to happen to humanity, since the domestication of plants and animals.

This is most emphatically true. The bourgeois scholars quite cheerfully point out the fact that this made possible the mass production of countless articles. It also allowed a class of people, known as ‘’burghers’’, merchants of the middle ages, to invest their money in various enterprises, including factories, mills, mines and other ‘’means of production’’, as well as railroads, shipping companies, and other ‘’means of transportation’’, not to mention banks, credit unions and other ‘’financial institutions’’, so that they became supremely wealthy. 

In the process, these burghers became transformed, from being members of a class of merchants, to members of a class of capitalists, referred to as ‘’bourgeois’’. In the process, a second class of people was created, as no class can exist in isolation. This ‘’antipode’’ to the capitalist class, was a working class, technically referred to as that of  ‘’proletarians’’. Such people, who were formerly farmers and craftsmen, also became transformed, into ‘’hourly employees’’, selling themselves by the hour. 

This creation of two new classes of people, both revolutionary, at least at first, is the one thing that bourgeois scholars choose to ignore. 

It was Marx and Engels who described this supremely well, in the Communist Manifesto. Further, it was Lenin who conducted a most thorough, scientific examination of capitalism, in its current stage of monopoly, referred to as imperialism. He concluded that monopoly capitalism is completely reactionary, that it has absolutely no progressive features. He documented this most carefully, in his work, Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism.

In proportion as the monopoly capitalists, the multi billionaires, the bourgeoisie, rot and decay, the class opposite to them, their ‘’antipode’’, the working class, the proletariat, becomes ever more progressive, ever more revolutionary! Now we are at the point where the ruling class of monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, can no longer rule in the ‘’old way’’, and are being forced to change their method of rule. This is largely due to the fact that the working class, the proletariat, is now supremely cultured, no longer willing to ‘’swallow the lies’’ of the multi billionaires, and are demanding change.

Of course, the ‘’change’’ the multi billionaires have in mind, is that of a ‘’Rule of Those Most Qualified to Rule’’, by whom they mean themselves. In other words, the rule of an Oligarchy. 

Yet in all fairness to those Doomsday Prophets, the fact of the matter is that they have a point. All previous civilizations have come into existence, risen to a peak, and then fallen into decay, finally collapsing. 

As for those who are of the opinion that it could not possibly happen to our civilization, may I draw your attention to the fact that, as I have documented in a previous article, there existed in Egypt, possibly twelve thousand years ago, a civilization which rivalled our own. They were so advanced, they even used electricity! Yet that civilization truly collapsed, reverting right back to the Stone Age!

There is absolutely no chance of such a ‘’reversion’’ happening to our civilization, as our civilization- and only our civilization!- has experienced an industrial revolution. For that reason, we are now blessed with a revolutionary working class, a proletariat. 

As Marx so clearly stated, it is the revolutionary proletariat, which is destined to overthrow the completely reactionary class of monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, smash the existing state apparatus, and set up a new state apparatus, in the form of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat! Such a new state apparatus is required, as after the Revolution, under a state of Scientific Socialism, classes will continue to exist. The former multi billionaires will make every effort to ‘’restore their paradise lost’’. Unless they are completely crushed, they will return to power, as happened in the Soviet Union, and in China. 

After the approaching American Revolution, we are determined to not repeat the mistakes of previous Scientific Socialists. Even though Great Revolutionaries, they were still human. As such, they made mistakes. We all do that. Now it is our duty to learn from those mistakes. In that way, we will be sure to exercise ‘’all round’’, complete Dictatorship over the bourgeoisie. The American monopoly capitalists will never again return to power!

As I write this, it is now early May, 2026. Yet even at this early date, the mainstream press is already focused on the ‘’Midterm Elections’’, counting down the months before the ‘’Big Vote’’, of November. As if that vote is about to change anything of substance!

It is referred to as the ‘’Midterm Elections’’, as it falls between the two ‘’Presidential Elections’’, of 2024 and 2028. Each and every Member of the House of Representatives are running for office, all 435 of them, as each serves a two year term.

In addition, there are 100 Senators, and each serves a six year term. Every two years, one third of them, or 33 this year, have to run for office. 

The Republican Party, led by President Donald Trump, has a majority in both ‘’Houses of Congress’’, which is to say the House of Representatives and the Senate. Yet there are countless Americans, including those who consider themselves to be ‘’progressive’’, or ‘’Leftist’’, or even ‘’Socialist’’, who are ‘’hoping and praying’’ that enough Democrats and ‘’Independents’’ can be elected, within both Houses of Congress, to reverse that majority, and pass laws to enact some meaningful change.

Without doubt, such people are honest, hard working, tax paying, law abiding, patriotic citizens. As such, they deserve our utmost respect, as well as our support. We are prepared to offer them every assistance, in their goal of electing progressive people to Washington. At the same time, we hope to achieve our goal of raising their level of awareness, to that of class conscious people.

It is a fundamental tenet of Marxism, that the conditions of life, of the working class, the proletariat, do not lead to the awareness of itself, as a class. This class awareness must come from an outside source, that of middle class intellectuals. Bear in mind that both Marx and Lenin were middle class. Yet both ‘’turned their backs’’ on a rather comfortable, middle class life style, in order to work in the service of the common people.

The best way to raise the level of awareness of the common people, both workers and family farmers, is by becoming involved in that which interests them. As they are currently interested in the Midterm Elections, that deserves our immediate attention.

There is certainly no harm in working towards the goal of electing ‘’progressive people’’, whether Members of the Democratic Party or an Independent Party, perhaps as an ‘’Independent Socialist’’, to either or both Houses of Congress. Yet to expect that this could possibly result in any meaningful change, as a result of a majority, is simply not reasonable.

The reason for this is quite simple. Both ‘’Houses of Congress’’, which is to say the Senate and House of Representatives, are part of that which is referred to as the ‘’state apparatus’’, or merely ‘’the state’’. This elaborate state apparatus has been established for one purpose and one purpose only- to crush the ‘’lower classes’’! Especially the working class, the proletariat!

The system is set up to ensure that each and every Member of Congress, as well as every Senator, regardless of the political party, serves the same class! The multi billionaires! The monopoly capitalists! The bourgeoisie!

Even though there is the odd ‘’renegade’’, and in particular the ‘’Members of the Squad’’, led by AOC, that is exceptional. It is simply not reasonable, nor is it possible, to expect to elect sufficient Members, to either House of Congress, to enact any significant change. After all, the state apparatus, which has been set up by the bourgeois, the monopoly capitalists, in order to crush the working class, the proletariat, cannot be used by the proletariat, in order to crush the capitalists. On the contrary, the existing state apparatus must be smashed, at the time of the Revolution,and replaced with a working class state apparatus, in the form of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. In that way, and only in that way, can the determined resistance of the capitalists be crushed, as they make every effort to ‘’restore their paradise lost’’. That is a basic tenet of Marxism.

This is not to imply that we should surrender that ‘’field of battle’’, that of any federal election, to our class enemies, the bourgeoisie. On the contrary, it is our duty to fight those people, wherever and whenever we find them! If nothing else, those who take part in those battles, will become schooled in the class conflict. Besides, it is reasonable to expect that we should win the odd ‘’skirmish’’.  

Yet there is a reasonable chance of success, of winning numerous elections, and not just those in Washington. This can only serve to assist our cause. Those who are elected will find out that the monopoly capitalists are in charge, and fully intend to remain in charge. Nothing of substance will change. The capitalists will not allow this.

It is the duty of Scientific Socialists, which is to say Communists, to raise the level of awareness of the working class. As it is customary in American society, to deny the very existence of classes, that is a ‘’tall order’’. Yet it must be done. 

For that reason, we will start with a few basic definitions. Those readers who are middle class may find this to be somewhat tiresome, but it cannot be helped. After all, our focus must be upon the working class.

The ‘’common people’’, by whom I mean workers and family farmers, tend to believe the American propaganda. Such propaganda is most impressive, intense and continuous. They believe that their ‘’democratically elected officials’’, whether Republican or Democratic, go to the capital of Washington, in order to represent them. Such is hardly the case! The system is established so that all elected officials, regardless of the political party, serve the same class!

The current situation can be compared to the Occupy Movement of 2011. At that time, countless working people were of the same opinion. They actually thought that their political leaders were not aware of the ‘’inequality’’ that existed, within society. So they decided to exercise their democratic right to protest, to occupy certain areas. The government responded with a certain brutality. In this way, the working people learned that the government does not represent them. It crushes them.

That same lesson must be learned, once again. No doubt, the veterans of the Occupy Movement can assist in this noble endeavour. Experience is such a great teacher! Especially when combined with those who warn beforehand. 

For that reason, it is appropriate for all of us to assist citizens in voting for candidates, in the Midterm Elections, of their choice. We can also encourage citizens to join the two mainstream political parties, as card carrying members, and run for office. As I have covered this in previous articles, there is no need to go into it here.

The idea is to ‘’take the bourgeois at their word’’. They say that ‘’if we do not like the way things are, we should change it from within’’. So be it! Run for any and all political offices! Encourage your families and friends to do the same! Your platform can contain certain slogans:

Increase The Pensions! Tax Free! Free Education! All Student Loans To Be Abolished! Increase The Minimum Wage! Defend The Bill Of Rights! Defend The Right To Bear Arms! Tax The Rich! Make Everyone Pay Their Fair Share! Abolish ICE! All Immigrants Legal!

In this way, you are sure to gain the support of the retired people, all students, the trade unions and sports enthusiasts, among others. A great many others! In fact, it is reasonable to expect almost all working people to support you, in your run for political office. 

It is also reasonable to expect the ruling class of monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, to oppose you, to place every obstacle in your way. In this way, they will stand more exposed.

This brings us to working class people, technically referred to as proletarians, those who sell themselves by the hour. Such people are also known as ‘’wage slaves’’, or ‘’hourly employees’’, or simply ‘’workers’’. Those who are able to ‘’make ends meet’’, to ‘’put food on the table’’, as well as ‘’keep a roof over their heads’’, are not middle class! They are merely more ‘’fortunate’’ than so many other working people, who are reduced to the point of homelessness, living in vehicles, or even ‘’on the streets’’.

Family farmers, as the name implies, are composed of families who own some property and grow crops, of various sorts. These may include vegetables, fruit, berries and livestock, usually a combination of the afore mentioned. In most parts of the world, they are referred to as peasants. At least in North America, many farmers tend to work as hourly employees, whenever possible, in order to supplement their meagre income from the farm. In this way, they become both workers and farmers. 

It is note worthy that all workers and family farmers, at least here in North America, tend to refer to themselves as ‘’common people’’, or ‘’the little guy’’, or members of the ‘’rank and file’’, or even ‘’blue collar’’. They generally find the term ‘’masses’’ to be somewhat offensive, when applied to themselves. As well, the term ‘’backward’’ should be avoided, as so many workers think it means ‘’stupid’’. A more appropriate term is ‘’less advanced’’, when used in reference to those workers who are considered to be more ‘’conservative’’, or ‘’Right Wing’’ or even ‘’MAGA’’.  So I suggest that the words ‘’masses’’ and ‘’backward’’ be avoided, whenever possible, when used in reference to the working people. 

Middle class people, or small business owners, are referred to as ‘’petty bourgeois’’, in that petty means ‘’small time’’, and bourgeois means ‘’capitalist’’. Many of them have succeeded in investing their limited capital in a small business, if only a machine, and either run it themselves, or hire someone to run it for them. The more fortunate, those who are more successful, are able to hire people, even numerous people, to work for them.

It is the middle class which is of particular interest to us, especially the ‘’upper middle class’’, as they are aware of the existence of classes, and the conflict between them. Many of them have also been to University, and thereby exposed to the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin. More accurately, they were taught the distortion of those revolutionary theories. Now certain of the older ones, who have been blessed with years of experience, have been forced to admit that ‘’Marx was right’’. 

They say this with the utmost bitterness, and are determined to ‘’weather the approaching storm’’, the Second American Revolution, which they know is rapidly approaching. Many of them are currently hoarding gold and other ‘’precious minerals’’, presumably in safety deposit boxes. As if that is about to do a world of good!

Such people tend to lead lives of ‘’quiet desperation’’, waiting for the ‘’axe to fall’’. They are well aware of the fact that the bourgeoisie has recently decided that merely five businesses are ‘’Too Big To Fail’’. They are equally well aware of the fact that ‘’every coin has two sides’’. The ‘’other side of that coin’’ is the fact that all other businesses are ‘’Too Small To Succeed’’! 

We can expect a few of these reasonably intelligent, misguided individuals, to ‘’come to their senses’’, to face the fact that capitalism has ‘’had its day’’, and that Scientific Socialism, in the form of Council Power- as Council is the English translation of the Russian word Soviet- and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, is ‘’on the horizon’’. 

The reason I say that this is of ‘’particular interest to us’’, is because those people, members of the middle class, are about to find themselves thrust into the ranks of the proletariat, the working class. They bring with them the awareness of the existence of classes, as well as the conflict between those classes. It makes no difference whether they enter the working class voluntarily, or against their will, ’’kicking and screaming’’, so to speak. It is their knowledge which is the important thing.

To such people, I have something to say: Welcome, My Brothers and Sisters, My Fellow Workers, My Comrades!

Fear not, your previous years of experience, in the service of the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie, will not be held against you! On the contrary, you can use that experience to drive home the point that classes exist, and that the conflict between the classes, which is about to break out into open class warfare, is very real!

Further- as I suspect you may have already ‘’guessed’’!- feel free to face the fact that you have no future under capitalism. If nothing else, the multi billionaires have made that abundantly clear!

That is the ‘’bad news’’, to use an old, worn out joke, as I cannot resist the temptation. The ‘’good news’’, is that you have a bright, shining future under Scientific Socialism. 

After the successful Scientific Socialist Revolution, under the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, your skills and training, in the fields of management and organization, will be in demand. You can expect to be rewarded, and most handsomely.

What is more, even before the outbreak of the Insurrection, which will overthrow the monopoly capitalists, smash the existing state apparatus, and establish the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, you still have an important role to play. That ‘’important role’’ involves raising the level of awareness of the working class, making them aware of themselves as a class, with their own class interests.

As well, feel free to become deeply involved with Councils, which are ‘’underground organizations’’, concerned with assisting working people, in various ways. These include, but are not limited to, arming, equipping and training workers, as preparation for the approaching Insurrection.

This brings us to the fourth class, that of the multi billionaires, or ‘’monopoly capitalists’’, or ‘’imperialists’’, the members of the class of people known as the ‘’bourgeoisie’’. They are also completely ‘’reactionary’’, which is to say that they are completely opposed to any change. In popular terms, we say that they are ‘’ultra conservative’’. They are also ‘’opportunists’’, which is to say, completely devoid of principle. Lying is their specialty! As well, they are complete parasites, as they contribute nothing to society. They specialize in investing their considerable capital, in various parts of the world, demanding a sizeable return on their investments. They care only about themselves and their immediate families. Regardless of the amount of money they have, it is not enough. They want more! They are the greatest enemies of the working class!

Those are the four main classes of people, which currently exist in North America. Only the remnants of other classes remain in existence, and very few of them. The bourgeoisie has done a fine job of simplifying the class struggle! To this day, ever more family farmers and small business owners are being driven into bankruptcy, and into the ranks of the working class. For that reason, the class struggle is increasingly becoming strictly that of capitalists versus workers, bourgeois versus proletarians! Both family farmers and small business owners are members of a ‘’dying breed’’.

It is also reasonable to expect that the forth coming Second American Revolution, will ‘’kick off’’, with that which is commonly referred to as a ‘’popular uprising’’, technically referred to as an ‘’Insurrection’’. Such an event may or may not be spontaneous. The more carefully planned and executed, the less spontaneous, the greater the chances of success. 

We can further expect the people taking part in this Revolution, to act in a manner which is something other than that which is generally considered to be within the bounds of ‘’socially acceptable behaviour’’. And rest assured, coating the class enemies of the working people with tar and feathers, and parading them through the streets, certainly qualifies as ‘’exceeding the bounds of decency’’.

That is most certainly true, and yet during times of Revolution, the polite norms of civilized society, tend to ‘’fall by the wayside’’. As the members of the ‘’lower classes’’, in this case the workers and family farmers, rise up and challenge the ‘’upper classes’’, the monopoly capitalists, those who have crushed and exploited them all their lives, we can expect to witness instances of mass brutality. Such behaviour is characteristic of all Revolutions, and calls for a little explanation.

The class of people known as the bourgeoisie, the multi billionaires, have a certain ‘’hold’’ over the working class. This is referred to as ‘’spiritual power’’, and is every bit as real as the physical force elements of repression. As that is the case, it too, must be destroyed. 

As well, the ‘’criminal element’’, which includes mobsters of various persuasions, politely referred to as ‘’organized crime’’, also exerts a great influence over the working class. This is another way of saying that working people are terrified of them. With good reason, I might add! 

This spiritual power, that of both the monopoly capitalists and the mobsters, must be smashed. I refer to this power as ‘’invisible chains’’, and consider them to be supremely dangerous, if only because they cannot be seen. The working class can be expected to overcome this spiritual power, to ‘’break these invisible chains’’, by publicly humiliating both the monopoly capitalists and the mobsters.

As a result of this anticipated public humiliation, we can expect all such recipients, to become ‘’sweetly reasonable’’. The mobsters will be only too anxious to disclose the location of all the ‘’buried bodies’’, as well as all the accomplices to their crimes, in an attempt to secure leniency. In addition, we can further expect all capitalists to  ‘’come clean’’, to reveal the hiding places of their wealth, including that of precious metals. 

The preceding pretty well covers the class struggle, as it relates to raising the level of awareness of the working class, the proletariat. We can think of that as one ‘’field of battle’’, the ‘’practical field’’, so to speak. Yet there is another area which demands our attention. That lies within the ‘’field of theory’’, or as I prefer to think of it, as a ‘’Roadmap to Scientific Socialism’’. 

As I have made clear in previous articles, the working class is spontaneously gravitating towards Scientific Socialism. Yet as they do not know how to get there, they can be compared to a driver who is lost, driving around in circles. We all do this, when we are ‘’lost’’. Finally, ‘’when all else fails’’, we break out the road map!

This is my somewhat less than subtle way of comparing the Scientific Socialist Revolutionary theories, of Marx and Lenin, to a road map. It is by following those Revolutionary theories, and only by following those Revolutionary theories, that the working class, the proletariat, can arrive at their goal of Scientific Socialism.

Yet to this day, there are countless people who are only too anxious to dispute that fact. These include all bourgeois scholars, and a considerable number of self described Socialists, including those who claim to be Scientific Socialists, also known as Communists. 

This is anything but a new phenomenon. On the contrary, the criticism of all of the fundamental tenets of Marxism, and not just the Revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin, has been emanating from the Universities, for some considerable time. 

The response of the ‘’Leftist’’ people, including those who claim to be ‘’Scientific Socialists’’, or ‘’Marxists’’, or ‘’Marxist-Leninists’’, or ‘’Communists’’, or just plain ‘’Socialists’’, has been very interesting. Many of them have embraced these ‘’revisionist’’ theories.

In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, it must be stated that a few of them openly admit to being ‘’revisionists’’. That stands in stark contrast to the vast majority, those who make every effort to revise those revolutionary theories, of Marx and Lenin, while doing so in their name!

This was the same problem Lenin faced, shortly after he and a few other middle class intellectuals, formed the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party, in 1898. He quickly was confronted by the fact that the Party was divided. There were a considerable number of Members who wanted to ‘’change the Party platform’’, so to speak.

Bear in mind that Scientific Socialism was, at that time, referred to as ‘’Social Democracy. At the time the Party split, it was referred to as Bolshevism. And after the October Revolution of 1917, the name was changed to Communism.

In his article, What Is To Be Done?, he explained the difference. In the following, that which Lenin stated, I have placed in quotes. The italics within those quotes, are those of Lenin: 

‘’Social-Democracy must change from a party of the social revolution into a democratic party of social reform….The possibility of putting socialism on a scientific basis and of proving that it is necessary and inevitable from the point of view of the materialist conception of history was denied, as also were the facts of growing impoverishment and proletarianism and the intensification of capitalist contradictions. The very conception, ‘ultimate aim’, was declared to be unsound, and the idea of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat was absolutely rejected. It was denied that there is any difference in principle between liberalism and socialism. The theory of the class struggle was rejected on the grounds that it could not be applied to a strictly democratic society, governed according to the will of the majority, etc.’’ 

This is precisely the same nonsense that is being put forward by our current crop of social chauvinists, those who are socialists in words, chauvinists in deeds. The only difference is that, for the moment, we have no true Communist Party, in existence. 

In particular, the Democratic Socialists of America, possibly the largest of the lot, are fighting for ‘’Democracy and Reforms’’, rather than socialism. Yet they still refer to themselves as socialists! Is it too much to expect honesty from such people?

‘’Thus, the demand for a definite change from revolutionary Social-Democracy to bourgeois social-reformism was accompanied by a no less definite turn towards bourgeois criticism of all the fundamental ideas of Marxism. As this criticism of Marxism has been going on for a long time now, from the political platform, from university chairs, in numerous pamphlets and in a number of scientific works, as the younger generation of the educated classes has been systematically trained for decades on this criticism, it is not surprising that the ‘new, critical’ tendency in Social-Democracy should spring up, all complete, like Minerva from the head of Jupiter. The content of this new tendency did not have to grow and develop, it was transferred bodily from bourgeois literature to socialist literature.’’

That is true to this day! It is primarily the ‘’younger generation of the educated classes’’ who attend University, and in University, they are exposed to all of the ‘’bourgeois criticism’’, the distortion, the revisions, of ‘’all the fundamental ideas of Marxism’’. Then the ‘’younger generation of the educated classes’’ have managed to ‘’transfer bodily’’, these revisions, from ‘’bourgeois literature’’ to the various ‘’Leftist Parties’’, including those which claim to be Communist! No wonder the working people are confused!

‘’To proceed….If democracy, in essence, means the abolition of class domination, then why should not a Socialist minister charm the whole bourgeois world by orations on class cooperation? Why should he not remain in the cabinet even after the shooting down of workers by gendarmes has exposed, for the hundredth and thousandth time, the real nature of the democratic cooperation of classes?….And the reward for this utter humiliation and self degradation of socialism in the face of the whole world, for the corruption of the socialist consciousness of the working class- the only basis that can guarantee our victory- the reward for this is imposing  plans for paltry reforms, so paltry in fact that much more has been obtained from bourgeois governments!’’ 

Here in North America, the federal government agency known as ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has been caught on video tape, more than once, committing cold blooded murder! Yet no charges have been laid! As well, countless people, alleged to be ‘’illegal immigrants’’, have been arrested and deported, without due process of law, as is guaranteed in the Constitution. Others, including young children, infants, have been separated from their mothers, and placed in prison! Various federal agencies have defied federal court orders,  and not just ICE. Once again, the ‘’corruption of the socialist consciousness of the working class’’, is in ‘’full swing’’, as ‘’Leftist organizations’’, including those who claim to be Marxist, are calling for ‘’paltry reforms’’. Bear in mind that the ‘’socialist consciousness of the working class’’, is the ‘’only basis that can guarantee our victory’’!

‘’He who does not deliberately close his eyes cannot fail to see that the new ‘critical’ tendency in socialism is nothing more nor less than a new species of opportunism. And if we judge people not by the brilliant uniforms they deck themselves in, not by the imposing appellations they give themselves, but by their actions, and by what they actually advocate, it will be clear that ‘freedom of criticism’ means freedom for an opportunistic tendency in Social Democracy, the freedom to convert Social Democracy into a democratic reformist party, the freedom to introduce bourgeois ideas and bourgeois elements into socialism’’.

Right to the heart of the matter! No wonder working class people are confused! Those who claim to be Socialist, even Communists, are openly calling for ‘’class collaboration’’, sometimes in words, more frequently in deeds. Such people are completely devoid of principle, opportunists. Do not judge a book by its cover!

As Lenin stated, it is the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, which is the ‘’touchstone of a true Marxist’’! It is also a fact that true Communists, Scientific Socialists, call for Soviet Power, in that Soviet is a Russian word, which means Council. Those who are social chauvinists, avoid the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, as well as Soviet Power, as if they were infectious diseases!

To this day, the Democratic Republic remains democracy for the chosen few. Here in North America, that means a handful of multi billionaires, a tiny minority, are in charge of the democratic republic. For the vast majority of people, especially the working class and the family farmers, it remains that which it always has been. The dictatorship of the bourgeoisie.
