The Decisive Hour!

On October 18, 2025, the largest single day protest in American history took place. All across the country, an estimated seven million people ‘’took to the streets’’. This was billed as a ‘’No Kings Protest’’, and was organized by over two hundred organizations! As the mainstream press reported, quite diplomatically, this was a ‘’massive demonstration against perceived authoritarianism under President Donald Trump’’.

In fact, as the name suggests, the mass protests were against the plan of Trump, to set himself up as an Emperor of some sort, starting with serving a third term as President, in direct violation of the Constitution!

The significance of this protest, lies not so much in the number of people who took part in the demonstrations, but in the fact that no one was arrested! The only explanation for this, is in the fact that the local police have joined the protest movement!

As that is the case, it is now reasonable to say that the ‘’American Protest Movement’’ has ‘’graduated’’ into a full scale Revolutionary Movement, the beginning of the Second American Revolution!

Remarkably enough, Marx and Engels predicted this, in 1847, at the time they wrote the Communist Manifesto. As they phrased it:

‘’Finally, in times when the class struggle nears the decisive hour, the process of dissolution going on within the ruling class, in fact within the whole range of old society, assumes such a violent, glaring character, that a small section of the ruling class cuts itself adrift, and joins the revolutionary class, the class that holds the future in its hands. Just as, therefore, at an earlier period, a section of the nobility went over to the bourgeoisie, so now a portion of the bourgeoisie goes over to the proletariat, and in particular, a portion of the bourgeois ideologists, who have raised themselves to the level of comprehending theoretically the historical movement as a whole.’’

We are clearly ‘’near the decisive hour’’! The fact that the local police have joined the ‘’revolutionary class’’, the working class, the proletariat, the ‘’class that holds the future in its hands’’, is proof of this. This is nothing other than part of the ‘’process of dissolution going on within the ruling class’’.

Now we can expect ‘’a portion of the bourgeoisie’’, those who are ‘’bourgeois ideologists’’, to ‘’go over to the proletariat’’. These are the few bourgeois ideologists who are capable of ‘’raising themselves theoretically to comprehending the historical movement as a whole.’’

This is of exceptional importance, and calls for a little explanation.

We can start by facing the fact that Marx, Engels and Lenin, the Founders of modern Revolutionary Scientific Socialism, were themselves members of the bourgeois intelligentsia. Each turned their backs on a comfortable middle class life style, in order to work in the service of the common people, both workers and family farmers.

My point is that those working people who are prejudiced against bourgeois intellectuals, are of necessity prejudiced against those same Founders of Scientific Socialism! Get over it! The input, of such people, is most valuable!

Take note that there is a huge difference between Scientific Socialism, and Utopian Socialism. It was Marx who proved, by a thorough scientific examination of capitalism, that it would necessarily lead to a state of Scientific Socialism. He made this quite clear in 1852, in a letter to Weydemeyer:

‘’And now as to myself, no credit is due to me for discovering the existence of classes in modern society, nor yet the struggle between them. Long before me, bourgeois historians had described the historical development of this class struggle, and bourgeois economists the economic anatomy of the classes. What I did that was new was to prove: 1) that the existence of classes is only bound up with particular historical phases in the development of production; 2) that the class struggle necessarily leads to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat; 3) that this Dictatorship itself only constitutes the transition to the abolition of all classes and to a classless society.’’ (italics by Lenin)

This stands in stark contrast to the belief of most Utopian Socialists, who are of the opinion that Socialism is merely a ‘’good idea’’. They are further of the opinion that it is ‘’simply not possible’’, so that the best we can do is ‘’demand certain reforms’’.

In fact, as I have documented in a previous article, several attempts have been made, by supremely well meaning Utopian Socialists, to establish a state of Socialism, under capitalism! All such attempts failed, through no fault of those who were making the attempt. Such a state of socialism, under capitalism, is simply not allowed. It cannot be done!

In particular, here in North America, it is customary to deny the very existence of classes! The bourgeois would have us believe that classes do not exist! Which is precisely the belief of a great many working people! So many of those same working people are also agreed that Socialism is also merely a ‘’good idea’’, but not about to happen!

This fact serves to drive home the point that the working class, the proletariat, is not aware of itself as a class! The conditions of life, of the proletariat, do not lead to that awareness! Nor are they aware of the fact that their interests, are diametrically opposed to the interests of the  class of multi billionaires, the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie. How can they be aware of this? They are not even aware of the existence of classes!

Of necessity, this brings us to one of the most highly respected, Leftist organizations in the country, that of the Democratic Socialists of America, DSA. As the Second American Revolution unfolds, we can expect workers to look to that organization for leadership. And what can we expect the DSA to advise the American proletariat? Their web site provides us with the answer:

‘’Who we are

‘’The Democratic Socialists of America is the largest socialist organization in the United States, with over 80,000 members and chapters in all 50 states. We believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few.’’

The DSA wants ‘’working people to run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs’’. As if the multi billionaires are about to allow such a thing! The economy and society are run by the bourgeoisie, for the profits of the bourgeoisie. Wishful thinking is not about to change that!

‘’What we do

‘’We are a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters, DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.’’

Now we get to the heart of the matter. The DSA is focused on ‘’fighting for reforms that empower working people’’. Yet as the monopoly capitalist class, the multi billionaires, the bourgeoisie, is firmly in charge, there can be no question of ‘’empowering working people’’! The bourgeoisie already has that power, and fully intends to hang onto it! Utopian Socialism at its finest!

By contrast, it is a fundamental tenet of Scientific Socialism, Communism, that the working class, the proletariat, must smash the existing state apparatus, that which has been set up by the bourgeoisie, in order to crush the proletariat, and replace it with a new state apparatus, in the form of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat! In no other way can the resistance of the bourgeoisie be overcome.

Rest assured, after the Revolution, after the existing state apparatus is smashed, after the bourgeoisie is crushed, under the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, their resistance will increase tenfold! They will stoop to any depth, resort to any lie, any subterfuge, in order to ‘’recover their paradise lost’’.

They must not be underestimated! Given a chance, they will return to power, as they did in the formerly Scientific Socialist countries of the Soviet Union and China. We must not repeat the mistakes of previous great Revolutionaries, such as Stalin and Mao. Instead, we must learn from their mistakes, and exercise all round Dictatorship, over those parasites.

The proletariat must be made aware of all of this, and quickly. Time is not on our side. That begs the question: How best to raise the level of awareness of the proletariat? The answer is of course through the creation of a true Communist Party, one which calls for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. An American Communist Party, Dictatorship of the Proletariat, ACP, DP.

In October of 1918, Lenin had a word to say, concerning that very subject:

‘’Europes greatest misfortune and danger is that it has no revolutionary party. It has parties of traitors…and of servile souls like Kautsky. But it has no revolutionary party.

‘’Of course, a mighty, popular revolutionary movement may rectify this deficiency, but it is nevertheless a serious misfortune and a grave danger.

‘’That is why we must do our utmost to expose renegades like Kautsky, thereby supporting the revolutionary groups of genuine internationalist workers, who are to be found in all countries. The proletariat will very soon turn away from the traitors and renegades and follow these groups, drawing and training leaders from their midst. No wonder the bourgeoisie of all countries are howling about ‘world Bolshevism’.

‘’World Bolshevism will conquer the world bourgeoisie.’’

(italics by Lenin. At the time of the writing of this article, Communism was referred to as Bolshevism)

Now this ‘’greatest misfortune and danger’’ is also plaguing North America, as it has no ‘’revolutionary party’’. We can only hope that this ‘’mighty, popular revolutionary movement’’, currently sweeping the country, may ‘’rectify this deficiency’’.

It is reasonable to expect certain bourgeois ideologists, those who have managed to ‘’raise themselves theoretically to comprehending the historical movement as a whole’’, to take part in the creation of such a party, an American Communist Party, Dictatorship of the Proletariat, ACP, DP.

Of course, that is up to Americans. As I am Canadian, that does not directly concern me. Yet in the spirit of international working class cooperation, expressed in the slogan, ‘’Workers of the World, Unite!’’, I can only express my willingness to assist in this noble endeavour, in any way possible.

With Most Fraternal Communist Greetings,

Gerald McIsaac
