European Farmers Revolting

The farmers of Europe have been very vocal recently, making the various governments of the European Union aware, that they are not at all happy.

For the benefit of those who are not aware, the European Union came about, in an attempt to emulate the United States, otherwise known as America. The capitalists tried to create a ‘’United States of Europe’’, and to a remarkable extent, they succeeded.

There is an expression, to the effect of, ‘’Be careful what you pray for. You may just get it!’’ The European capitalists have succeeded in creating a ‘’Union’’, very similar to America! To their everlasting regret! Now they are ‘’blessed’’ with people, of different languages and cultures, customs and beliefs, just as in America. As a consequence, they are also faced with the same difficulties!

The European Union, or EU, now consists of 27 ‘’member states’’, has a common currency, the Euro, and has succeeded in creating a bureaucracy that rivals even that of America!

Incidentally, at one point, the United Kingdom was a member of the European Union, but broke away, several years ago.

No doubt, people may become confused, between Great Britain, GB, the United Kingdom, UK, and the European Union, EU. The fact that the press frequently uses the initials, EU and UK, tends to add to the confusion.

Great Britain consists of the countries of England, Scotland and Wales. The addition of Northern Ireland, to Great Britain, is referred to as the United Kingdom, or UK.

Amid the confusion, the farmers in the European Union are aware of one thing, which stands out with crystal clarity. They are all going broke. They simply cannot compete with imported goods, those which are brought in from foreign countries, in which the farmers are not burdened with countless regulations.

It is clear that the European farmers are in the forefront of the world wide struggle to protect the working people, especially the family farmers. The reason I say this, is because my research has revealed that the United Nations, the UN, has adopted that which they refer to a ‘’Sustainable Development Strategy’’. It is this ‘’Strategy’’ which is being used against all working people, including farmers.

Remarkably enough, it is reported that, in 2015, ‘’all 193 countries of the UN’’ agreed to commit to the ‘’Strategy 2030’’, which is clearly a reference to the year. That is about the only thing that is clear in this ‘’Strategy’’!

It is reported that this ‘’agenda sets out a path to sustainable development for all people, with 17 universal goals’’, all of which have been adopted by the UN. This list includes the following:

1) No Poverty 2) Protect the Planet 3) Ensure Prosperity For All 4) Zero Hunger 5) Good Health and Well Being 6) Quality Education 7) Gender Equality 8)  Clean Water and Sanitation 9) Affordable and Clean Energy 10) Decent Work and Economic Growth 11) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure 12) Reduced Inequalities 13) Sustainable Cities and Communities 14) Responsible Consumption and Production 16) Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life On Land, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions 17) Partnerships For the goals.

Then there are the ‘’Three Pillars of Sustainable Development Strategy’’, or ‘’SDS 2030’’. First we have ‘’Sustainable Consumption and Production’’, followed by ‘’Climate Energy and Biodiversity’’, as well as ‘’Equal Opportunities and Social Cohesion’’.

Lest we forget, we also have the ‘’Five P’s: People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace, Partnership’’.

Then there are the ‘’Four Principles: 1) Integration 2) Universal 3) Inclusive 4) Leaving No One Behind

It is rather sad to think that ‘’all 193 countries of the United Nation’’ have agreed to this ‘’Strategy’’! To even suggest that any small part of this ‘’Strategy’’ could be carried out, is to deny the fact that we live under capitalism! Is everyone who works at the United Nations on drugs?

Yet as the United Nations has adopted this ‘’Strategy’’, we have to question the existence of that organization. After all, that ‘’Strategy’’ is being used as a weapon against all working people, and not just farmers.

Perhaps there was a time when the United Nations served some useful purpose. In my opinion, those days are gone. The United Nations should be abolished.

It is very likely that the farmers of Europe agree with that statement! Certainly, by their actions, they are making it perfectly clear that they have had enough! They are demanding change!

The European Union even wants to ‘’tackle climate change’’, by forcing everyone, including the farmers,  to ‘’achieve net zero emissions’’. As if the common people are responsible for climate change! Reality check!

As I have documented in a previous article, the climate is constantly changing! To suggest that people are responsible for that change, is ridiculous! Perhaps someone should tell the scientific experts on climate, the meteorologists, that we have had three ice ages in North America! On three occasions the continent of North America cooled off, and glaciers covered the continent! Continental cooling! Also on three occasions, the continent of North America warmed up, and the glaciers melted! Continental warming! Not to be confused with ‘’global climate change’’! Continental climate change! No one knows what caused those changes! Everyone knows that people had nothing to do with that! It was an Act of God! Quit blaming people!

My point is that burning ‘’fossil fuels’’ does not lead to climate change! To blame climate change on ‘’greenhouse gas emissions’’ is pure nonsense! This call for ‘’net zero emissions’’ is also nonsense!

This in no way changes the fact that everyone wants a clean environment. Nor does it change the fact that it is the capitalists who are responsible for polluting our air and water. In their never ending quest for an ever greater profit, they do not hesitate to spread filth, anywhere and everywhere. Nor do they hesitate to blame working people for creating their mess!

It is to the credit to the farmers of Europe, that they are rising up against the capitalists. These protests are spreading beyond the borders of Europe, to include the United Kingdom, India and North America.

These protests can best be viewed as part of a world wide uprising, against capitalism. In particular, the farmers of Europe are making their voices heard, in a manner which leaves no room for any misunderstanding. Among other things, they are spraying manure on government building, blocking major highways, dumping out imported products, including vegetables, fruit and wine. Further, these protests have been joined by truckers, taxis, fishers and transportation workers.

As yet, this popular uprising lacks focus, for the very fine reason that the common people, by whom I of course mean the farmers and workers, lack leaders.

The sad fact of the matter is that, those who are aware of the revolutionary theories of Marx and Lenin, the middle class intellectuals, have yet to take part in the creation of a true Communist Party, one which calls for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

This situation is similar to that of 1918, in which Lenin had a words to say:

‘’Europes greatest misfortune and danger is that it has no revolutionary party. It has parties of traitors….But it has no revolutionary party.

‘’Of course, a mighty, popular revolutionary movement may rectify this deficiency, but it is nevertheless a serious misfortune and a grave danger.

‘’That is why we must do our utmost to expose renegades like Kautsky, thereby supporting the revolutionary groups of genuine international workers, who are to be found in all countries. The proletariat will very soon turn away from the traitors and renegades and follow these groups, drawing and training leaders, from their midst. No wonder the bourgeoisie of all countries are howling about ‘’world Bolshevism.

‘’World Bolshevism will conquer the world bourgeoisie’’. (italics by Lenin)

I should add that in 1918, Communism was referred to as Bolshevism. Also, at one time, Karl Kautsky was a superb Marxist theoretician, but ‘’turned his coat’’, thus becoming a renegade and traitor.

We are currently in the midst of a ‘’mighty, popular revolutionary movement’’, and that may indeed give rise to a ‘’revolutionary party’’. Or not! That remains to be seen. What does not remain to be seen, is the necessity of preparing the working people, for the approaching revolution.

As mentioned in a previous article, it is now up to working people, especially the ”internationalist workers” within the ‘’revolutionary groups’’, to train themselves, to learn at least the fundamentals of Marxism. The essential works of Marx and Lenin are now available on the internet, and can be easily downloaded. A proper understanding of those articles will help to create working class intellectual, revolutionary Communists.

As Lenin stated, the vast majority of working people will soon ‘’turn away from the traitors and renegades’’, and follow the self educated, Communist leaders, drawn from the groups of ‘’internationalist workers’’.

Soon the vast majority of common people, proletarians, farmers and small business owners, will be openly calling for Scientific Socialism, for Revolution, for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat!
