The two farces of the Democratic Presidential primaries, that of New Hampshire and Iowa, are now a thing of the past. The next two farces, that of Nevada and South Carolina, are currently in full swing. The press is focused on the Democratic Presidential Debates and the numerous candidate who are determined to win the Party nomination and challenge Trump for the political jackpot, that of the presidency. Even though it is early in the election, they have already collectively spent hundreds of millions of dollars. The one candidate who has yet to run in even one primary is reported to have spent, or at least raised, over 400 million, and this in a country with massive unemployment, millions of people on food stamps, countless people living on the streets, and millions scraping by as best they can. Perhaps someone should mention to these politicians that all of those millions could better be spent elsewhere.
This in no way changes the fact that the press is covering these primaries and a great many people are watching, and in fact the members of the public are paying strict attention. Most people, both working class and middle class, are deeply dissatisfied with the current state of events, and are seeking an alternative. In other words, they are looking for leaders. Most of them are disappointed, but not surprised that none of the candidates are offering any substantial alternative. The only candidate who offers anything even slightly different is Bernie Sanders, a self described Independent Socialist. Of course, voters are torn between a candidate whom they like, and of course I am referring to Sanders, and a candidate who has the best chance of beating Trump. The press is stressing the point that Sanders may be a fine fellow, but as he is not a ”centrist”, he does not have any broad support and therefore has no chance of beating Trump. This is their opinion and they state it frequently, as if it is a fact. It is not a fact, it is an opinion, and should be stated as such. It is also very likely not true.
Most members of the middle class have been ruined, forced into the ranks of the working class, so that there are essentially only two classes in America, the working class, the proletariat, and the monopoly capitalists, the bourgeoisie. There is no middle class and consequently no middle ground, no centre. Most members of the press, the journalists, either cannot or will not face this fact. As the companies they work for are owned by the capitalists, they are forced to bias the news they report, in favour of the bourgeoisie. Otherwise, they find themselves in the ranks of the unemployed. Or perhaps, as supremely well paid people, they cannot imagine an alternative to capitalism. They may even qualify as members of the middle class, petty bourgeois. That is an academic question, best left to the political scientists. It is a question to which I am indifferent.
A far more interesting development is that the journalists are now using words which were formerly forbidden, such as ”revolution” and ”socialism”. The fact that they are now openly referring to such topics is an indication of the strength of the revolutionary motion, that which is currently gripping the country.
Other topics are in the news, and the working people closely watch the news. Among the most remarkable is the reports that 1100 federal judges are about to convene an emergency meeting, over concerns about Department of Justice interventions in politically sensitive cases. Not that it is the DOJ which is interfering in such cases so much as it is Trump ordering his Attorney General to meddle. In particular, he is quite upset that his old buddy, Roger Stone, was convicted of various crimes and could be sentenced to several years in prison, in fact seven to nine years, as is recommended by the prosecution. Trump wants to change this, and is insulting the prosecutors and the judge on the case. The Attorney General is complaining but doing as he is told. In turn, over 2,000 current or former members of the office of the AG, have called for him to resign.
It is doubtful that the AG will resign for this reason, just as it is doubtful that the federal judges will be able to take any meaningful action. The important thing to note is that the members of the administration are deeply divided. The judicial branch, which was set up by the bourgeoisie, as part of the state apparatus used to protect the bourgeoisie and crush the proletariat, is now in disarray, quarrelling with the executive branch. The ruling class is truly divided, deeply weakened.
Another leader of the working class, Angelina Ocasio-Cortez, is also in the news. She is reported to have said that ”Sanders may have to nix his medicare for all plan”. Such a statement reveals that she is indeed naive, very childish -a good thing if she is only naive! There is no way that the monopoly capitalists are about to allow Sanders or anybody else to interfere with their profits. No doubt, there are greater profits to be made in other areas, other than taking advantage of the suffering of people, but none come to mind. All dope dealers can testify to the fact that the profits are huge.
No sooner will we be through the primary farces of February, than we will be faced with the major farce of ”Super Tuesday” in March. It is expected that another presidential candidate, Michael Bloomberg, will be ”throwing his hat into the ring” at that time, if not sooner. As he has already spent hundreds of millions on the campaign, this should come as no surprise. The press is already reporting allegations of racism and sexual assault. As he is a billionaire, a member of the monopoly capitalist class, the bourgeoisie, this should not come as a great shock to anyone. Such people tend to view women as members of a harem, to be used accordingly. This should be used to drive home the point that Trump is no different from any other member of his class. In other words, all members of the bourgeoisie are completely reactionary.
As I write this, it has just been reported that Trump has just issued pardons for Rod Blagojevich and ten others. The significance of this is that Blagojevich was the former governor of Illinois, in office at the time Barrack Obama was elected president. As Obama was a Senator from Illinois, he had to relinquish his Senate seat, and it was up to the governor to appoint a new Senator. Blagojevich saw this as an opportunity to sell the Senate seat to the highest bidder, and apparently he was conducting the auction on the telephone. Of course, the FBI was recording the call. This is not too surprising, as Illinois is the home state of Capone, among other notable criminals. It is considered to be perhaps the most corrupt state in the union, with possibly four of the last seven governors ending up in prison. The fact that Blagojevich advertised the sale on the telephone is a testament to his stupidity. No self respecting professional criminal would do something that stupid. So of course Trump issued him a pardon, as he probably identifies with Blagojevich. One is as stupid as the other.
These are headlines from the latest news, and the Leftist people should be using these as examples to drive home the point that classes exist and are in constant conflict. That is the only way the working class can be made aware of themselves as a class. As the revolution could break out any day now, the need to raise the level of awareness of the working class, the proletariat, is ever more pressing. The fact that even federal judges are concerned is an indication of the breadth and depth of the movement.
The fact is that these primaries and debates are pure nonsense, noise created with the obvious purpose of deceiving the people and extinguishing the growing revolution by diverting the attention of the people onto trivial matters.
Now is the time for American women to once again rise up, to come together as you did at the time Trump was inaugurated. Also avoid the trap of allowing the movement to be converted into a corporation. Instead, set up a non profit society, one which can appeal to all citizens. Encourage all Americans to join the two parties and take part in amending the Constitution, abolishing the Electoral College. The only thing required is the vote of two thirds of the states. As well, encourage the members to nominate people for all political offices. Flood Washington and all state capitals with Leftist people.
In addition, those of you who are Marxists must form a Communist Party, Dictatorship Of the Proletariat. The revolution needs leaders. As conscious people, it is your duty. Not to perform your duty is completely unprincipled, the basest form of opportunism.
This can still be accomplished before the November elections. American women, perhaps in cooperation with American students, have proven themselves to be excellent organizers. They have done it in the past and can do so again. The only thing they lack is leaders. It would appear that the leaders of the Womens Protest of several years ago have sold out to the bourgeoisie. Or perhaps they have merely decided to remain silent. Either way, that is not acceptable.
Other leaders will emerge in the struggle, either before or after the revolution. You ladies know who you are, so step up and take charge. If you do not, a member of the bourgeoisie will do that for you. Then everything you have fought for will be in vain.
The Independent Citizens Society should be open to all Americans, dedicated to protecting and defending the democratic republic, the Constitution. That should appeal to all, including the federal judges who are so dissatisfied. The deeper and broader the base, the better. We want to gather together as many citizens as possible.
By contrast, the CP, DOP must be very exclusive. Only the most dedicated, seasoned Marxists can be allowed to join. It is this Party, the one and only true Party of the working class, which can possibly lead the revolution to socialism and the subsequent Dictatorship Of the Proletariat.
The fate of the American revolution is in the hands of American women. I have no doubt that you will rise to the occasion. God Bless You.
